The Spider Armor is a Tier 2 set crafted from a series of spider-related resources. It counts with three parts you’ll need recipes and ingredients for. This guide will show you all the steps beginning to end to craft your own Spider Armor.

Crafting Spider Armor in Grounded

Recipe Unlock and Resource Picking

To craft Spider Armor first we need to unlock the recipe for all three parts. Luckily this is done by analyzing a single resource: Spider Chunk. You can get it by killing Orb Weavers or Wolf Spiders, both of which you’ll find around the Oak Tree. Make sure to grab 12 of them, as that’s the total needed for the armor

While you’re on the task of killing Orb Weavers, you’ll also want their Web Fiber (8 to be exact) as we’ll be using it during the process to get the Spider Armor. Kill any Wolf Spiders you come across too, you’ll need their Spider Fangs (two).

Crafting the Spinning Wheel and Silk Rope

The Spinning Wheel is a craftable utility we’ll need to create Silk Rope, materials used to craft the armor. By analyzing the Web Fiber you got in the previous step you’ll learn both the Spinning Wheel and Silk Rope recipes.

The Spinning Wheel will ask for two Acorn Tops, four Clays and four Red Ant Parts.

  • Acorn Top: Dropped from smashed Acorns. You’ll find these around the Oak Tree and will need a hammer to break them.
  • Clay: Obtained from smooth rocks found near and inside large bodies of water and ponds. You’ll need the shovel to break the smooth rocks and obtain the clay.
  • Red Ant Part: Dropped by Red Soldier Ants and Red Worker Ants. These bugs can be found near the Oak Hill and the Flower Bed.

Once you’ve obtained the materials, you can craft your Spinning Wheel. With it, you can choose up to 5 recipes that the wheel will process, one at a time. Once the process is complete, you can retrieve the item you left for production. In this instance what you’ll want to make is Silk Ropes from Web Fibers. You’ll need a total of 8 for the Spider Armor, so get on spinning.

Berry Leather Location

While your Spinning Wheel works on the Silk Ropes, you’ll want to move towards the Hedge (located to the south-east corner of the Yard) while carrying an Axe. In there you will find Berries hanging from branches in and near the zone. Hit the Berries with your axe to get Berry Chunks. You’ll need 21 of these, so make some space in your backpack before you take off.

After getting the Berry Chunks, analyze one to unlock the Berry Leather recipe and go to your workbench to craft 7 pieces.

Craft Spider Armor

At this point all of the hard work is done. Get into your menu and craft the Spider Hood (2 Spider Fangs, 3 Spider Chunks, 2 Berry Leathers), the Spider Shoulder Guards (5 Spider Chunks, 3 Berry Leathers, 4 Silk Ropes) and the Spider Knee Pads (4 Spider Chunks, 4 Silk Ropes, 2 Berry Leathers) and equip it. You are finished!
