In Gotham Knights Case 3.2 (“In the Shadows” – Chelsea Tunnel), you eventually reach a part of the mission where you must investigate drilling research and then extract a viable sample from the excavation site.
The game drops this as an investigation puzzle. To solve it, you need to pick the correct core sample and the right chemical to process it.

In the extraction room you’ll find a worktable with a bunch of items you can examine in Investigation Mode.
These include different core samples (ore bits) and a bunch of chemical vials (Acids, solutions, etc.). Your goal here is to simply figure out which ore is relevant to the Court’s research and what chemical breaks it down.
Once you interact with the extraction table, use your AR vision. Then, scroll the camera to inspect the items on the desk and the vials to the left.
The game does hide some clues in item descriptions, but there’s only one pair that actually completes the puzzle.
The only combination that yields a correct solution is to choose the Composite Ore (often tagged as “10588-COS”) as your sample and Sulfuric Acid as the chemical you apply to it.
Mark those two items in the investigation interface and hit Solve. That’s the clue mix that satisfies the objective and gives you the “viable sample” the mission is asking for.
Completing this objective pushes the mission forward to the next set of tasks in Chelsea Tunnel, namely escaping the mines and progressing the case narrative back to the Belfry with Talia al Ghul.
