Drive Discs are items that you can equip on your Agents in Zenless Zone Zero. They offer various stat bonuses which are very important if you want to get the most performance out of your agents.
In this guide, I will go over the stats, ranks, how to obtain Drive Discs and pretty much everything you need to know about Drive Discs and how they work.
Complete Drive Discs Guide
If you are struggling with a quest or boss and feel like your agent is weak then Drive Discs can give your agent the push they need. Drive Discs can increase both defense and offensive capabilities of your agent. Let’s first get started with the different ranks of Drive Discs.
Ranks

There are 3 ranks of Drives Discs and the higher the rank, the better stats it will provide. The ranks are mentioned below:
S-Rank
- Max Level: 15
- Denoted by a yellow color in the inventory.
A-Rank
- Max Level: 12
- Denoted by a purple color in the inventory.
B-Rank
- Max Level: 9
- Denoted by a blue color in the inventory.
Stats

The stats of Drive Discs are divided into two categories: Base Stats and Random Stats. Base Stats are permanent and they depend on the slot you place the Drive Disc in (more information on this down below).
Random Stats as you can tell from the name are random. A Drive Disc can have a maximum of 4 random stats. Following are the different random stats that a Drive Disc may have:
- Flat HP
- Flat ATK
- Flat DEF
- HP%
- ATK%
- DEF%
- Flat PEN
- CRIT Rate
- CRIT DMG
- Anomaly Proficiency
This is early similar to the Echo system in Wuthering Waves.
Set Effect
Other than that, a Drive Disc will belong to a set. You can get a Set Effect when you have 2 or 4 Drive Discs equipped from the same set. Since there are 6 slots for equipping Drive Discs, you can go for the following two combinations:
- 2 Set pieces + 2 Set pieces + 2 Set pieces
- 4 Set pieces + 2 Set pieces
Drive Disc Slots

There are a total of 6 slots (also called partitions) where you can place Drive Discs. These are numbered from 1 to 6 (as you can see in the image above). The slot you choose for a Drive Disc will determine its Base Stat. The table below shows the Base Stats offered by each slot:
| Slot 1 | Flat HP |
| Slot 2 | Flat ATK |
| Slot 3 | Flat DEF |
| Slot 4 | HP% ATK% DEF% CRIT Rate CRIT DMG Anomaly Proficiency |
| Slot 5 | HP% ATK% DEF% PEN% Elemental Damage Bonus |
| Slot 6 | HP% ATK% DEF% Impact Energy Regen Anomaly Mastery |
Leveling Up Drive Discs

You can upgrade your Drive Discs by using Plating Agents. The max level of the Drive Disc you can achieve will depend on its rank as mentioned at the start of this guide. At every 3 levels of upgradation, the Base Stat and a Random Stat will be improved.
If your Drive Disc has less than 4 Random Stats then at every 3 levels, a new Random Stat will be added to your Drive Disc. When your Drive Disc gets 4 Random Stats, then next 3 level upgrades will improve a single Random Stat by a fixed amount.
How to get Drive Discs (& Plating Agents)
Now that you know how important Drive Discs are, you might be wondering how to farm them. Then below are two ways through which you can get Drive Discs and Plating Agents to upgrade them.
Routine Cleanup
The Routine Cleanup is located in the Scott Outpost. Once you get there, talk to the NPC called Roland.

This will bring up the mission screen which you can see in the image below. There are different missions available and each mission offers Drive Discs and Plating Agents as rewards.

You can also change the Challenge Level of these missions from the option located at the top right side of your screen. Changing the challenge level also affects the rewards you get in the following way:
| Challenge Level 30 | Rank A Drive Discs Rank B Drive Discs Crystallized Plating Agent |
| Challenge Level 40 | Rank S Drive Discs (1 or 2) Rank A Drive Discs Ether Plating Agent Crystallized Plating Agent |
| Challenge Level 50 | Rank S Drive Discs (2) Rank A Drive Discs Ether Plating Agent Crystallized Plating Agent |
| Challenge Level 60 | Rank S Drive Discs (2 or 3) Rank A Drive Discs Ether Plating Agent Crystallized Plating Agent |
Gacha System

If you wish, you can also obtain Drive Discs through the gacha system which you can find in the Music Store (also called Bardic Needle). There are three types of tuning available in the Music Store which offer different rank Drive Discs. They are as follow:
| Beginner Tuning | Main Drop: A Rank Drive Discs Secondary Drop: B Rank Drive Discs |
| Intermediate Tuning | Main Drop: S Rank Drive Discs Secondary Drops: A Rank and B Rank Drive Discs |
| Advanced Tuning | Main Drop: S Rank Drive Discs Secondary Drop: A Rank Drive Discs |
The currency used for tuning is also Plating Agents which you can obtain from Routine Cleanup missions as mentioned earlier. But there are multiple other methods as well through which you can get it. Such as Basic Combat Simulation (Basic Upgrade Materials), Dismantling Drive Discs at the Music Store, etc.
Music Store Levels
The Music Store has 6 levels and each level unlocks some perk that can help you get more Drive Discs. The levels and their unlocking requirements are mentioned below:
| Music Store Level | Requirement for Unlocking | Benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Inter-Knot Level 20 | This unlocks the Music Store. Only Beginner Tuning is available at this time. |
| Level 2 | Inter-Knot Level 30 | You can select a set which increases its drop rate by 50%. |
| Level 3 | Inter-Knot Level 35 | Unlocks Intermediate Tuning. |
| Level 4 | Inter-Knot Level 40 | You can select the partition (Slot) of the Drive Disc. This will cost you more Plating Agent. |
| Level 5 | Inter-Knot Level 42 | Unlocks Advanced Tuning. |
| Level 6 | Inter-Knot Level 45 | This will allow you to select the main stat of the Drive Disc. |

I hope this helped you out! If you want to learn more about the combat system of this game then we have an in-depth guide available for it. Give it a look!
