The “Call to Arms” update added Trinkets to Valheim and they work differently to anything else in the game. You equip one and it sits there doing nothing until you fill up your Adrenaline bar through combat. Hit enemies, block attacks, use Forsaken Powers, and once that orange bar in your HUD hits its cap, the Trinket fires automatically and gives you a short burst of whatever effect it has.
The catch is that the effects are temporary and the whole system only kicks in when you are actively fighting. Adrenaline starts decaying if you stop combat for around six to ten seconds, so these are not passive buffs you can set and forget. Whether they are actually worth building into your setup depends a lot on which one you pick and how you play. In this guide, I cover every Trinket in the game, how to craft them, and whether they are genuinely worth using.
Complete Trinkets Guide
There are 13 Trinkets in total and each one is built around a different playstyle. Some reward aggressive combat. Others are built for tankier builds or specific weapon types. I will go over each one starting with the best and working my way down to the least useful so you know exactly where to spend your resources.
Jörmundling
Crafting the Jörmundling requires 5 Flametal, 5 Refined Eitr, 1 Bloodstone and 1 Fallen Valkyrie Trophy at the Black Forge. Once you accumulate 70 Adrenaline, the effect triggers automatically. It instantly restores 100 Eitr and grants both +20 Elemental Magic skill and +20 Blood Magic skill for 60 seconds.
The reason this sits at the top of my list is how well it complements magic builds in Valheim. Magic is already one of the strongest playstyles in the game and the Jörmundling amplifies it significantly. The instant Eitr restoration alone is incredibly valuable since running out of Eitr mid fight is one of the biggest weaknesses of magic builds.
The skill boosts on top of that push your damage output and effectiveness even further for the full 60 second duration. If you are running a magic focused build this trinket is an absolute priority to craft as soon as you have access to the Black Forge and the required materials.
Bronze Pendant
This can be crafted at the Forge for 5 Bronze, 1 Bear Trophy and 3 Ruby. Once you have accumulated 50 Adrenaline, the Bronze Pendant triggers automatically and provides a 25% stamina regeneration boost for 60 seconds.
What puts this trinket so high on the list is how early you can get your hands on it. Most trinkets require materials from later biomes but the Bronze Pendant is accessible fairly early in the game. The stamina boost it provides is genuinely strong and stamina is one of the most used resources in Valheim. Having a reliable way to regenerate it faster makes a noticeable difference in combat.
On top of that the 50 Adrenaline trigger cost is one of the lowest in the game which means it activates frequently and stays active for a long time. A must have trinket for any build regardless of your playstyle.
Wolf Sight
You can craft this at the Forge for 5 Silver, 5 Wolf Fangs and 1 Fenring Trophy. It grants +20 Bow skill, +20 Spear skill and +10% pierce damage with an adrenaline cost of 55 and a 30 second duration.
It is a very impressive trinket for spear focused builds and the pierce damage bonus makes a noticeable difference in combat. The low adrenaline cost is another big plus since it means you can activate it more frequently without burning through your resources. The bonus Bow skill on top of everything else makes it a solid pick for players who like to mix spear and ranged combat into the same build.
Pulsating Earrings
To craft the Pulsating Earrings, you need to track down a Gjall Trophy along with 5 Carapace and 5 Refined Eitr. Take those to the Black Forge and you are good to go. Once the Adrenaline hits 65, you get a +25% eitr regeneration for 60 seconds.
Magic in Valheim is genuinely one of the strongest playstyles available right now and Eitr is the fuel that keeps it running. A 25% Eitr regen boost for 60 seconds is a significant quality of life improvement for any magic build. It means more staff casts, more crowd control and more damage output sustained over a longer period without having to stop and wait for your Eitr to recover naturally.
The Adrenaline cost of 65 is reasonable enough that it triggers fairly consistently in combat. And since magic users are typically already in prolonged fights where Eitr management becomes a factor, the timing of the trigger lines up well with when you actually need it most. If you are running a magic focused build, this is one of the stronger Trinket picks in the game and well worth prioritizing.
Evasion Mantle
Grab 5 Black Metal, 10 Linen Thread, and a Fuling Berserker Trophy before heading to the Forge. Once crafted, it costs 60 Adrenaline to trigger and the effect sticks around for a generous 120 seconds. When it triggers, you get a 50% reduction to Block stamina usage, a 50% Parry bonus, and a 20 Dodge skill boost all at once.
That is a seriously well rounded defensive package and the 120 second duration is one of the longest of any Trinket in the game. Once it kicks in, you have a full two minutes of enhanced blocking and parrying to work with.
What makes this one particularly good is how well the effect synergizes with how you earn Adrenaline in the first place. Parrying in Valheim generates Adrenaline which means the more you parry the faster this Trinket triggers. And once it triggers the enhanced Parry bonus makes your parries even more effective.
It feeds into itself in a way that very few other Trinkets do. The Adrenaline cost of 60 is also on the lower end making it one of the more consistently triggering options on this list. A very strong pick for anyone who plays defensively.
Bracelets of the Brave
5 Black Metal, 5 Lox Pelt, and 1 Lox Trophy at the Forge is what you need for this one. It sits at an Adrenaline cost of 85 and runs for 60 seconds once triggered. When it goes off, you get an immediate 100 health injection. On top of that you gain 20 Clubs skill and a 10% Blunt damage boost for the full 60 seconds.
That is a lot happening at once and all of it is useful. The health burst keeps you in the fight. The Clubs skill boost temporarily pushes your effectiveness with the weapon type higher than your current level. And every hit during that window lands harder than usual thanks to the 10% Blunt damage increase.
For club users this is a no brainer. The combination of survivability and direct combat buffs tailored specifically to your weapon type makes it one of the best specialized Trinkets in the game. The Adrenaline cost of 85 is on the higher end but given how much you get out of a single trigger it is absolutely worth building your Adrenaline up for.
Crystal Heart
This is crafted at the Forge with 5 Silver, 5 Crystal, and 1 Stone Golem Trophy. Once the Adrenaline bar hits 80, it triggers automatically and gives you a 25% resistance to all physical damage including Blunt, Slash, and Pierce for a full 50 seconds.
That is a broad damage reduction that covers pretty much everything most enemies in the game will throw at you. 50 seconds is also one of the longer durations on any Trinket which means you get a solid window of protection once it kicks in.
The only real drawback is the Adrenaline cost. 80 is on the higher end and in shorter fights it may not even trigger before the enemy is already dead. But if you are someone who tends to take a lot of hits during prolonged combat or boss fights this is one of the better defensive options available. The broad physical resistance covers enough damage types that it stays relevant well past the biome you craft it in.
Resounding Shackles
Head to the Black Forge with 5 Refined Eitr, 5 Scale Hide, 1 Mandible, and 1 Seeker Trophy to put this one together. It costs 75 Adrenaline to trigger and the effect runs for 60 seconds. When it triggers you get an immediate 100 stamina and a 10% Slash damage boost for the full 60 seconds.
That combination is genuinely strong for sword users. The stamina injection keeps your attack chain going without having to stop and recover. And the 10% Slash damage boost on top of that means every swing during that window hits harder than usual.
If you are running a sword build this is one of the better Trinket choices available to you. The stamina and damage synergy lines up perfectly with how sword combat plays out and the Adrenaline cost of 75 is reasonable enough that it will trigger consistently in any fight that goes on for more than a few exchanges.
Brimstone
To craft this, you need 5 Flametal, 5 Sulfur, 1 Molten Core, and 1 Morgen Trophy. It is made at the Black Forge and has an Adrenaline cost of 100. When it triggers it gives you an immediate 100 health and 100 stamina in one burst.
On paper that sounds incredible and it genuinely is a powerful effect when it goes off. The problem is getting it to go off in the first place. An Adrenaline cost of 100 is the highest in the game and filling that bar requires a significant amount of sustained combat.
By the time it triggers in a lot of fights, the moment where you actually needed that health and stamina has already passed. It is a late game Trinket that demands a lot from you before it gives anything back. Worth having in certain situations but the adrenaline cost holds it back from being a top tier pick.
Nimble Anklet
You need 5 Iron, 5 Withered Bone, and 1 Surtling Trophy to craft this one at the Forge. Adrenaline cost is 60 and the effect lasts 30 seconds. When it fires off, you get 50 stamina and a 15% movement speed boost.
The movement speed increase sounds appealing and it genuinely is useful when you are out exploring or traversing between locations. The issue is that Adrenaline only builds during combat, which means by the time the Trinket triggers you are already in a fight. A movement speed boost mid combat is not nearly as impactful as a damage boost or a health injection would be in the same moment.
The 50 stamina is the more useful part of this Trinket but on its own it does not justify the slot over stronger options. It is not a bad Trinket but the effect and the situation it triggers in simply do not line up well enough to rank it higher.
Iron Brooch
To craft it, you need 5 Iron, 5 Ancient Bark, and 1 Leech Trophy. It is made at the Forge and has an Adrenaline cost of 65. When it fires it gives you an immediate 50 health boost and 20 additional armor for 30 seconds.
The instant health injection is actually useful in a pinch and the armor bonus on top of that is a solid combination. The problem is that 65 Adrenaline is a steep cost and 30 seconds goes by fast in a hectic fight. It is a decent Trinket for the Swamp tier and will save you in tight spots. Just do not expect it to carry you the way some of the higher ranked options do.
Heart of the Forest
This is crafted at the Forge using 5 Bronze, 5 Ancient Seeds, and 1 Greydwarf Shaman Trophy. It gives a 25% health regen boost for 60 seconds with an Adrenaline cost of 50.
This is one of the earlier Trinkets you will be able to craft and the health regen effect is not bad by any means. A 25% boost to health regen is noticeable during longer fights where you are taking consistent chip damage.
The problem is that the Adrenaline cost of 50 is on the higher side for what it offers and the 60 second duration is fairly short. It is a decent pick if you are still in the early biomes and do not have access to better options yet. But once you progress further there are Trinkets that offer more impactful effects for a similar or lower Adrenaline cost.
Fins of Destiny
Crafted at the Forge using 5 Chitin, 5 Serpent Scales, and 1 Serpent Trophy. It gives a 50% swim speed boost and reduces swim stamina usage by 80% for 120 seconds with an Adrenaline cost of 10.
The reason this sits at the bottom of the list is simple. Swimming is not something you do frequently enough to justify a Trinket slot around it. The buff is decent on paper but the situations where you actually need to swim a significant distance are rare.
And when you do need to cross a large body of water, a boat handles it far more efficiently than a swim speed buff ever will. There are far better options to have equipped in practically every other situation the game throws at you.

Wrapping Up
That covers all the trinkets available in Valheim. A couple of them are not worth the materials it takes to craft them but the majority of the list is genuinely strong across the board. Which ones you prioritise really comes down to your playstyle.
Magic builds will get the most out of the Jörmundling. Spear and bow players will love Wolf Sight. And pretty much every build benefits from having the Bronze Pendant active as early as possible given how universally useful stamina regeneration is. Experiment with different combinations as you progress and you will quickly find the ones that click best with how you like to play.
