Your weapons and armor play a big role in determining how strong you are in New World Aeternum, as having better gear will make you stronger in both PvP and PvE. There are multiple ways of getting weapons and armor in this game, with one of them being crafting.

In this guide, we will be looking at how crafting works in New World Aeternum, and how you can craft weapons and armor for yourself. So without any more delay, let’s get straight into it.

How to Craft Weapons & Armor

Resources needed to craft an item, and the requirements for crafting it

You can craft weapons and armor through the Forge. The most important aspect to consider with crafting in this game is resource management. Each weapon or piece of armor will require you to have a certain mix of resources on you, and a lot of these resources must be crafted before you can actually craft the weapon or armor.

Tannery (Leather)

Most armor pieces and some weapons will require you to have some sort of leather on you. All leather-based resources can be crafted through the Tannery.

To start crafting resources at the Tannery, you will need to get yourself some Rawhide. Rawhide is a primary resource that can be collected from the corpses of animals you hunt and kill.

Once you collect some Rawhide from animals, make your way to any Tannery close to you to start crafting leather-based resources.

Woodshop (Wood)

Cutting down a Banana Tree for some Green Wood

Wood is another extremely important resource in New World Aeternum, as a lot of weapon and armor recipes will have wood in them. Raw wood or Green Wood in this game is pretty easy to get, as all you need to do for it is cut down some trees. That said, most weapons and armor will require you to have different types of wood-based resources, so you will need to use the Green Wood you get to craft them.

A tier 3 Woodshop

You can craft wood-based resources through the Woodshop, and the Woodshop works very similarly to the Tannery. Simply put in the Green Wood that you have on you to make the specific resource that you need.

Smelting (Refined Metals)

a tier 3 Smelter

Crafting metal-based weapons and armor will require you to have refined metals. You can get these refined metals by putting raw ore into the Smelter.

The Smelter is very similar to the Tanner and the Wooshop, as all you need to do is put in the raw material to get the refined one. You can also use your Green Wood here to get yourself some Charcoal. Charcoal is generally more effective than wood for smelting and gives you a better return.

Crafting Weapons & Armor

Once you have the right resources on you, you can make your way to the Forge to start crafting weapons and armor.

Resources needed and the requirements for crafting a Wood Longsword

As you progress through the game, you will unlock more items to craft for yourself. These items will generally be stronger, but at the same time, also require more resources. In addition to more resources, crafting better items will also require you to have a higher tier Forge and a higher Weaponsmithing or Armorsmithing level.

So there you have it, a thorough look at how to craft weapons and armor in New World Aeternum. In addition to the regular craftable items, you can get unique and powerful items in this game called Artifacts. Make sure you check out all of the new Artifacts being added to the game.
