Medieval Dynasty tasks you with creating your own town or settlement in an open medieval world, and you can do so even when playing with other players.

But, is it possible for every player to have their own separate towns and settlements even in co-op mode?

Well, that’s the question we aim to answer for you with this short article!

How Towns and Settlements Work In Co-op – Can They Be Separate?

Medieval Dynasty: Can You Have Separate Towns/Settlements With Other Players? - Town Entrance

Technically speaking, you can have separate settlements but you also can’t. Quite an odd answer, huh? Let’s break it down and explain why we say that.

You and other players you play with can technically build different settlements and towns wherever you want.

There are no limits, so one player can build in one corner of the map another builds in the opposite corner. This allows multiple separate settlements, in a way.

Building a house

However, Medieval Dynasty counts all of these separate towns and settlements as a singular (and very large) shared settlement!

Resources will be shared across all “settlements” when using storage buildings, for example. There is no way to unlink them, so all players are always sharing resources!

It will also mean that you need to carefully micromanage your NPC villagers and workers. You’ll need to ensure that workers are assigned to the workplace closest to them.

Farmers farming

Villagers will walk across the entire map to reach workplaces such as fields if you let them roam free, so make sure to manage them to prevent this.

So, you and other players are free to build as many villages as you like. But the game technically considers all of them part of the same big settlement, no matter the distance!

The other big downside to this technicality is the building limit. The building limit is shared by all players, and it can only reach a potential max of 140!

Hunters in the wild

Co-op in Medieval Dynasty is not really intended or recommended to be played using multiple separate settlements, that’s for sure. Nonetheless, now you know what’s possible and what isn’t!

If you and your pals are willing to deal with the limitations and technicalities, you can build separate towns and the like.

Just be aware that the game will always consider all buildings by players to be part of the same singular settlement.
