The Lingua Belli Longsword is a new weapon added to KCD2 (Kingdom Come: Deliverance II) via the Legacy of the Forge DLC, and it’s one of the best weapons possible. Its overall stats put it up there alongside some of the very best from the base game. It can even compete with something like the Reforged Radzig Kobyla’s Sword, and it’s also easier to wield! Sounds interesting? Read on, we’ll tell you how to get it.

How To Craft Lingua Belli Longsword | KCD2: Legacy of the Forge DLC

The first thing you’ll need to craft the Lingua Belli Longsword is its recipe, its Sketch. You can get this Sketch randomly whenever you do the “In the Service of the Guild” quest. It can randomly spawn in one of the chests at the bandit camp you need to raid during that quest.

“Randomly” being the keyword there, sadly! It’s not guaranteed. On the upside, the quest is repeatable, so you can keep trying until you get it.

Additionally, sometimes you’ll need to turn in the Sketch to finish the quest. In those cases, you can just turn it in to the NPC that requests it during the quest. Then, come back later at night to pickpocket them and get the Sketch back for you to read!

The Shopping List

Besides the Sketch, you’ll also need to gather quite a few materials. Most of these will require you to have made decent progress through the Legacy of the Forge DLC’s main story, too! Here’s the quick shopping list for you to refer to:

  • Acidum Chloridum x1 – Sold by Standa the Fly. You’ll need to recruit him to your forge as part of the Legacy of the Force story. Requires you to have built the Foundryman’s Shelter in your forge’s yard, also.
  • Tincal x2 – Sold by Apprentice Pushko. You’ll need to recruit him to your forge as part of the Legacy of the Forge story. He’ll require you to have built the Armourer’s Shelter in your forge’s yard.
  • Coloured Gold x1 – Sold by both Pushko and Standa.
  • Horned Sword Guard x1 – Sold by the blacksmith in Kuttenberg, as well as by master blacksmiths such as Master Klaus Eichner at the blacksmiths’ guild.
  • Eight-sided Sword Pommel x1 – Sold by blacksmiths and master blacksmiths in Kuttenberg.
  • Toledo Steel x1 – Sold by both Pushko and Standa.
  • Sheet Steel x1 – Sold by both Pushko and Standa.

Once you’ve bought everything you need, there’s only one thing left to do!

Forging the Sword

With the Sketch and materials in your possession, the last step is to simply craft the weapon. Before you do that, though, we highly recommend saving at this point! It’ll let you reload your save to try again in case you fail to get a Tier IV variant. We highly recommend going for that, too, as it’s much stronger.

When you’re ready, you just need to use the anvil in your very own forge to start smithing. Just select the Lingua Belli Longsword from the Longsword category, as shown above. The blacksmithing process is the same as usual here, so we recommend referring to our blacksmithing guide for help. It covers all the details about how the system works!

With some luck and skill on your end, you’ll easily achieve the Tier IV variant! The Tier IV Lingua Belli Longsword is easily one of the best new weapons in KCD2: Legacy of the Forge. We hope this helped you get it a bit more easily.
