As an early access title, they are still finding ways to improve the overall experience and give players new progression systems, and the addition of legendary runes is just an example of this. There are a few different ways to acquire these, so let us talk about it real quick!
How to Unlock Legendary Runes in Enshrouded
If you check their item description, legendary runes are crafting materials that you can use to imbue your legendary gear with various powers. This is just a fancy way of saying that they’re used for enhancing equipment, and you will need a lot of them per gear piece.
For example, this legendary melee weapon will eventually require 45 legendary runes after you unlock the first few enhancements. As you can see, these runes, despite their supposed rarity, are actually fairly common crafting materials that you will have a lot of eventually.
Now, in order to actually get some, the process is actually quite simple. There is a lot of conflicting information about it online at the moment, but early game mini bosses have been proven to drop them.

This means that you can start stocking up on these resources long before you even need them.
As soon as you pick up a legendary rune drop, your character will seemingly instantly learn how to craft them as well. You should receive a “recipe unlocked” notification on the left side of your screen when this happens.
Upon receiving the crafting recipe, you just need to have a blacksmith at your base to make some. Make sure that you have a room and bed for that NPC so you can make use of his services, as this is a strict requirement!
Each legendary rune will require 25 standard runes to craft. Note that this is only for a single piece, so it is pretty expensive. Since you are typically going to need regular ones alongside the legendary runes, it is highly advised to just get them as a drop from enemies and early game side bosses.
