If you want to make the most of your AIC in Arknights: Endfield, you’ll need to learn to set up auto ore mining and crafting facilities.

Automatically and passively gathering and crafting resources is extremely important in this game. It’s a way to minimize the grind as you aim to gear up all of your Operators. And gachas can be really grindy, so you need everything you can get!

In this guide, I’ll help you through the basics of automating everything related to your ores.

How to Automate Ore Mining

To automate mining, you’ll first need to unlock the Electric Mining Rig facility. If you haven’t done so yet, I recommend just following the game’s story. You’ll unlock them naturally as part of the “Paving the Way” main story quest.

If you have already completed that quest, you should have at least 5 Electric Mining Rigs in your possession. The process of setting them is mostly the same as placing Portable Mining Rigs.

Look for an empty ore node and go into AIC building mode by clicking on the top left corner of the screen or pressing right on the D-Pad. Then, go into the Facility List in the bottom right corner of the screen.

Find the Electric Mining Rig and select to place it, then position it over the ore node you wish to mine. You know it’s right when the preview hologram is white!

Now, these Electric Mining Rigs do need to be powered up. They are electric, after all!

For that, first bring power in from your hub. You’ll need to use Relay Towers to transmit the power, as shown in the clip above. I’m sure you already know how to do this, though, as it’s the same process you had to go through to transmit power to the Protocol Resonance Tower.

Then place an Electric Pylon. Make sure that the blue field covers all of the mining rigs. The ones that are covered will be highlighted in white, just in case. Transmit power from the Relay Tower to the Electric Pylon to activate it.

Once everything is powered up, the Electric Mining Rigs will start working! These will not just mine ore automatically; they will also transfer it to your AIC’s Depot. No need to manually collect it all.

You’ll unlock even better versions of this facility later on, allowing you to mine rarer ores. But the process for setting those up is pretty much the same.

How to Automate Refining

Next up, it’s time to automate the refining process using Refining Units. This will turn the raw ores into usable products for crafting.

At this point in the game, you’ll probably need just 2 Refining Units. You should have them from progressing through the main story already and placing them works the same as all other facilities.

As my recommendation here, you’ll want something like the setup above. Refining Units on the corners of your Automation-Core, and an Electric Pylon next to each Refining Unit.

At the same time, it’s ideal to only have one input and output lane on the basic Refining Units. Even with just one input lane, the Refining Unit will get ore faster than it can process it. So, a single lane is more efficient for time and space if you’re early in the game.

Also, the reason I recommend having 2 Refining Units early on is simple: one is for Amethyst and the other is for Originium. Those are the 2 ores you can mine early on, so you only need to refine those!

With this basic setup, you should have both the mining and refining fully automated at your AIC. There’s only one thing left to go over, now.

How to Automate Crafting

For this part of the process, you’ll need to use Gearing Units. You should’ve obtained some as part of the story by this point. If you’re still doing the “Paving the Way” quest, you’ll even need to use them to make the materials for Miner Overalls.

On that note, the “Paving the Way” quest gives you a blueprint you can use to automate the creation of Amethyst Components. The blueprint is nice, but it’s not efficient and takes a lot of space. So, I would advise against using it.

Instead, you’ll want to set things up as show on the clip above instead. Place the Gearing Unit close to your Automation-Core, close enough that it can get power from one of the Electric Pylons you have.

Then, set Output Ports from your Automation-Core to your Gearing Unit. One should be for Origocrust and one for Amethyst Fiber.

To finish up, select an Output Port from the Gearing Unit and bring it back to the Automation-Core. It will lead the finished Amethyst Components back to your depot.

That’s really all you need to do to automate the entire process! Of course, though, this is just the basics. But this same process can work for other ores and crafting stations at your AIC. You just need to input the right materials for what you want to craft, then output the result to the Automation-Core depot.

So, there you have it! That’s how to efficiently set up auto mining and crafting for ore materials in Arknights: Endfield. With this basic knowledge, you should be able to get a lot more out of your AIC!
