You’ll find the most success by hanging jackets and coats on the Avocet wall hook and all the coat racks listed in Storage except for the Mixture coat rack.
If you encounter the same issue with towels, the solution will be the same.
Switch to precise placement and mouse over the hook. If you want to hook a towel, use the upright towel with the towel hook. Use a towel bar for the flat upright towel.
NOTE: The flat towel can’t be placed on hooks and bars.
Spamming the placement button is also a way to get this done, but it’s tedious and surely frustrating. Another tip is that towels can hang in the kitchen over the rail of the stove on the horizontal door handle.
