This might be the rarest crafting material ever…

Sanctifying Elixir is one of the most useful new materials in Genshin Impact 5.0, but also one of the hardest to get.

You can use the Sanctifying Elixir alongside the new Artifact Transmutter to create Artifacts. These Artifacts will have whatever main and secondary stats you choose, as well! If that sounds too good to be true, it almost is. There are only 4 Sanctifying Elixirs to get currently, with a 5thexclusively for Battlepass owners.

Nonetheless, in this guide, we’ll tell you exactly how to get every Sanctifying Elixir currently available in Genshin Impact.

How to Get Sanctifying Elixir | Genshin Impact

Artifact Transmutter

Unlock the Artifact Transmutter

The first way to get a Sanctifying Elixir is by using the Artifact Transmutter. You can get the Artifact Transmutter as a reward for Chapter 4 of the Embattle objectives in your Adventurer Handbook. The objective requires you to obtain a total of 25 5-star Artifacts.

Use the Artifact Transmutter

You can now use the Artifact Transmutter by using it from your inventory.

Extract Sanctifying Elixir

Now, the Artifact Transmutter allows you to sacrifice 5-star artifacts that are Level 4 or higher. Every Artifact will provide at least 4 Extraction Points. Get a total of 100 Extraction Points and you’ll be able to convert them into a Sanctifying Elixir. That means that, at the bare minimum, you’ll need to extract a total of 25 Level 4-start Artifacts for 1 Sanctifying Elixir.

For more details, here’s the full breakdown of the Extraction Points rates:

  • Level 4 to Level 11 Artifacts – 1 Extraction Point per Artifact Level
  • Level 12 to Level 15 Artifacts – 1 Extraction Point per Artifact Level + a bonus of 2 Extraction Points to the total.
  • Level 16 to Level 19 Artifacts – 1 Extraction Point per Artifact Level + a bonus of 6 Extraction Points to the total.
  • Level 20 Artifacts – 30 Extraction Points total.

What’s more, you can only get one Sanctifying Elixir per cycle this way. Check the description to see how much more you can produce and how much longer the cycle lasts. Cycles correspond to the game’s updates, so you can only get 1 Sanctifying Elixir this way during 5.0.

Additionally, it’s worth mentioning at this point that you can get a Sanctifying Elixir from the Battlepass. However, you’ll need to reach Level 26 of the premium track (Gnostic Hymn).

Children of Echoes Trove

Yellow Obsidian Fragment

Another way to get Sanctifying Elixir is to open the troves for every tribe you meet as you explore Natlan in Genshin Impact. To start, let’s first open the Children of Echoes Trove as they are the first tribe you meet.

The first thing to do is to collect 3 Yellow Obsidian Fragments. You can get them randomly whenever you open any Luxurious and Precious Chests in the Tequemecan Valley. However, as we said, they are completely random.

For help, check out our guide on where to find the Luxurious Chests in Tequemecan Valley.

Crafting the Yellow Obsidian Ring

Once you obtain the Yellow Obsidian Fragments, open your inventory and select them. You’ll be able to craft them together to create the Yellow Obsidian Ring.

Now that you have the Yellow Obsidian Ring, use the Teleport Waypoint for the Children of Echoes. It’s marked on the map above.

Then, head straight south and you should see a golden barrier blocking a path.

Use the Yellow Obsidian Ring

Approach the barrier and use the Yellow Obsidian Ring on it to clear it.

You can now go into the cave beyond. Loot the place clean to get various Artifacts, items, and the Sanctifying Elixir.

Scions of the Canopy Trove

The overall process for the Scions of the Canopy Trove is pretty much the same as for the Children of Echoes. You’ll once again need to open Luxurious and Precious Chests, but this time you’ll need to stick to the Coatepec Mountain. Get 3 Green Obsidian Fragments to craft the Green Obsidian Ring. Then, travel to the Statue of the Seven in Coatepec Mountain.

From the Statue of the Seven, head directly east toward the long wooden bridge between the cliffs.

Once you’re nearing the southern end of the bridge, look down and you should spot a golden barrier. Just like you did for the Children of the Echoes Trove, approach the barrier and clear it away with the Green Obsidian Ring. Then enter the cave and loot everything to get a lot of goodies, including 1 Sanctifying Elixir.

People of the Springs Trove

People of the Springs Trove location

The last Sanctifying Elixir you can get in Genshin Impact 5.0 is the one from the People of the Springs Trove. If you’ve been following along, you know the drill by now. Open Luxurious and Precious Chests in Toyac Springs to get 3 Azure Obsidian Fragments. Craft the Azure Obsidian Ring with them and then head to the spot marked on the map above.

People of the Springs Trove barrier

Look for a cave along the shore and you’ll spot the familiar golden barrier. Just like the other troves, clear the barrier with the Azure Obsidian Ring. Then head in to claim your rewards, which include 1 Sanctifying Elixir.

That brings us to the end of our guide, so now you know how to get every Sanctifying Elixir currently available in Genshin Impact 5.0. Whether or not they’re worth getting now is entirely up to you, however. They do take a lot of effort, don’t they?
