Food is one of the most important resources in Aska, as you will need to eat in order to stay alive. We will be looking at the best early-game food sources that are easy to get and can help you survive the early game.
Best Early Game Food Sources
Early on, you will want food that is easy to harvest and can easily be found around the map. The best early-game food sources are:
- Berries
- Onion
- Eggs
- Mussels
We will be looking at what these resources look like in-game and how to harvest them. Some of these food items can be a bit difficult to find. You can use the Z button on your keyboard to scan the area in Aska. Scanning an area will highlight all gatherable items nearby.

The first food on our list is Berries. To get Berries, you will need to find bushes that have Berries growing on them. These bushes can be found all around the map, and are relatively easy to spot.
Once you find a Berry bush, you can go up to it and gather the Berries.
Onions
Another great food item early on in the game is Onions. Like Berries, Onions are very common in this game. Onions can be quite annoying to find, as they grow underground and the only visible part is the stem on top of the Onion. The best way to locate Onions close to you is by scanning the area around you.
You can gather Onions the same way Berries are gathered.
Eggs
Eggs in Aska can be harvested through Fallen Bird’s Nest. You will find plenty of Fallen Bird’s Nests lying around, and like the previous 2 food items, you can go up to them and gather them to get Eggs. Eggs are not a guaranteed drop from nests though, as sometimes gathering nests won’t give you Eggs.
Like the Onions, it can be a bit difficult to spot a Fallen Bird’s Nest lying on the ground. Make sure you scan the area to locate them.
Mussels
The last food item on our list is Mussels. Mussels in Aska can be found close to areas near the water, like beaches. You can usually find Mussles on rocks right next to the water, and they are pretty easy to spot.
Ensure you constantly collect all the food you can find to avoid going hungry. Food in Aska will periodically spawn all around the game’s map. So if you’ve already gathered food from a location, you can go back to it later and find the food waiting for you over there.
