If you want to face the tough Matriarch event boss in ARC Raiders, you would do well to learn its weakspots and moveset.
The Matriarch is one of the most dangerous ARC bosses currently in the game. It can spawn during specific conditions and can be found on maps such as Dam Battlegrounds, Spaceport, and Blue Gate.
Although it’s about the same size and threat level as a Queen, it has various unique mechanics that can quickly overwhelm you if you’re unprepared.
To help you with that, we’ve prepared this guide so you can manage to take on this fearsome ARC.
Matriarch Boss Weakspots & Guide in ARC Raiders

Let’s start with the basics!
To fight the Matriarch, you’ll need to wait for the Matriarch event to start on any map. This will guarantee that it spawns somewhere on the map for you to fight it.
For prep, you want the best possible anti-ARC weapons you can get. A loadout with the Hullcracker is recommended, with the Anvil as a backup weapon. Bring as much ammo as possible for the Hullcracker too, at least 100-150 rounds or more.
You’ll also want to bring a Medium Shield and plenty of healing. Plus, make sure that all of your equipment has high durability.
The fight can last several minutes, especially if other players are competing for loot, so you don’t want your equipment to break halfway through!
Lastly, this boss is also obviously easier to take down if you cooperate with other players. But since it is an event, it’s likely that random players will fight it alongside you even if it wasn’t planned.
Weakpoints

As you might imagine, the Matriarch is an extremely well-armored ARC. Its main weakpoint is its red glowing core, though it’s very rare that you actually get a chance to shoot at it.
Since that’s usually not a viable target, your next best bet is to shoot at its legs. They’re also vulnerable and are often the safest targets to hit during combat. As usual with ARCs, managing to break the legs can greatly damage them and limit the Matriarch’s moveset.

That said, the Matriarch is protected by a powerful energy shield during portions of the fight. During this time, you won’t be able to damage the Matriarch as the shield will block any incoming damage.
Hence, you should either move inside the radius of the shield or wait for it to go away on its own after a short period of time. As far movesets go, the Matriarch has a fairly limited set of attacks, but they are very dangerous ones!
Matriarch’s Attacks

The Matriarch’s method of attack, which happens to be the most dangerous, is simply firing a constant barrage of missiles. These are fast and will home in on Raiders, making them lethal to anyone out in the open.
However, you can easily avoid them by hiding behind any cover.

The Matriarch does have a trick to get you out of cover, too: gas grenades. These gas grenades emit a green cloud that makes your character cough, preventing you from acting and affecting your Stamina. They don’t seem to deal direct damage, however.

Similarly, the Matriarch can also fire flashing cylinders which detonate after a short period, blinding and deafening any player near them. Getting caught by one at the wrong moment can leave you exposed to both the Matriarch and the surrounding enemies.
Possibly its most dangerous mechanic is the ability to summon other ARCs, including Rocketeers, which are a massive threat in this fight. These reinforcements are often more responsible for player deaths than the boss itself.
If you spot other ARCs, find cover from the Matriarch and focus fire on the extra ARCs. Take them down quickly so you don’t get overwhelmed! Prioritize taking down the smaller ARCs before you return your attention to the boss.

While that’s all of the attacks the Matriarch has, it does get more and more aggressive as it takes damage. It likes to spam its missiles when low on health, for example, so watch out for that!
That said, you should now know everything you need to defeat the Matriarch boss in ARC Raiders, including all of its weakspots! Prepare well for this long fight and you’ll win.
