162 articles“Combat Recon” is one of the quests you can get from Shani in ARC Raiders as part of the Headwinds update.
For this quest, Shani wants you to do some recon work in the Buried City. The Bombardiers there are dangerous, but learning about helpful cover spots would make dealing with them a lot easier.
In this guide, I’ll tell you everything you need to do to complete this quest.
How to Find a Cover Spot in the Parking Garage Staircases
For this objective, you’ll need to go to the Parking Garage. It’s on the northern part of the Buried City map, between the Hospital and Space Travel buildings.

ARC Raiders: Where to Find Turbine CompressorApr 30, 2026Once you get there, you have to get to the top of the staircases. As shown in the clip below, the easiest way to do so is to just take the zipline up.
At the top of the staircases, you should get a prompt to “Scope Out.” Press the prompt to take a recording of the area and you’re all done here.
While you’re here, I highly recommend trying to spot a Bombardier and its Spotters. They’re required for another objective, which I’ll go into in more detail in the next section!
How to Destroy 2 Spotters and Get Spotter Relay
For this quest, you’ll need to find and destroy 2 Spotters. Those pesky drone ARCs like to roam around Bombardiers.
As I was saying before, the Parking Garage is an excellent spot for this. Go to the top part of the garage and you should be able to spot the ARCs flying around, as show in the clip below.
You can also take shots at the Spotters from here, which should draw them towards you while keeping you relatively safe from the Bombardier’s attacks.
Manage to shoot down 2 Spotters and then loot them to get at least 1 Spotter Relay and you’ll complete this objective. You need to bring the Spotter Relay to Shani, so I highly recommend putting it in your Safe Pocket.
How to Find a Cover Spot in the Buses Near Marano Park
Next up, you’ll want to go to Marano Park in the center of the Buried City. More specifically, you need to go just a little bit to the southwest of the Metro Entrance there.
Enter the broken-down abandoned bus there and you’ll get the “Scope Out” prompt. Trigger the prompt and wait for the interaction to finish, just like with the other spots on this quest.
How to Find a Cover Spot in the Attics Around Main Street
For this one, you’ll want to go to the westernmost building in the Plaza Rosa area. It’s in the southernmost part of the Buried City, just south of Main Street.
Enter the building and make your way up to the attic. You should get the “Scope Out” prompt if you try looking out of the windows. Record the area there and you’re all done with this spot.
If you’ve followed this guide in order, you’ll now have everything you need. You just need to extract and deliver the Spotter Relay to Shani to complete the “Combat Recon” quest in ARC Raiders!
