If there’s one aspect of PGA Tour 2023 that you should absolutely master, that would be putting. Needless to say, putting is an important part of golf, and mastering it in the game translates to you winning championships every now and then.

However, while learning how to putt properly is a basic and straightforward skill that you’ll learn in the game, mastering it is an entirely different story.

Luckily, we’re here to help you out and provide you with some tips that you can use to improve your putting skill as a beginner so you can eventually master it.

Learning the Basics

As you’re putting close to the hole, you might think that there’s no way you’ll miss the shot. However, golf can be unforgiving at times, and it’s often during these moments that your accuracy might be off the mark.

That said, the accuracy of your putting skill can be affected by the following elements:

  • Wind – The wind will always affect the accuracy of your shot, regardless if it’s a long or short one. This is an important element that you should consider before you take your shot.
  • Distance – The farther your distance from the hole, the harder you must hit the golf ball in order to reach it. However, this could also mean that your shot will be affected by the terrain leading all the way up to the hole.
  • Slope – You have to always keep in mind that the greens’ terrain is uneven. As such, the ball will never be able to roll as straight as you might expect.

Using the Putting Guide

As a beginner, one of the most important things you want to use in the game is the putting guide.

It’s basically a guide that will help you improve your putting by teaching you how to pitch properly. This is huge as it will tell you the angle the ball will curve, how much the curve will be, and how you can identify the ball roll.

Obviously, the guide won’t help you become a master overnight. It will require tons of practice until you’re comfortable playing the game without it. You can also disable the guide anytime you want via Settings.

After you’ve learned about the basics of putting in the game, you can then apply what you’ve learned in matches. You can use it when completing challenges, playing courses, and a whole lot more.

This way, you will be able to hone your putting skill over time and level up your character at the same time.
