NetEase have officially confirmed the start of Season 5 for Marvel Rivals, which will add Gambit and Rogue to the playable roster.

The season, titled “Love Is A Battlefield”, will kick off this Friday, November 14th, 2025. While the two new heroes are the headliners, they aren’t the only new additions we can expect from this season!

The news comes via NetEase themselves, who have shared their 11th Dev Vision video for Marvel Rivals. They officially confirm Gambit and Rogue coming to the game. These two characters have been a common fan request since the game’s launch, and have been teased and leaked in the past few weeks.

Gambit will be the first of the two to join the roster. He will be available on November 14th, 2025.

Gameplay-wise, Gambit’s role is that of a Strategist. Apparently, he will be a very agile support character capable of healing allies and cleansing negative effects. At the same time, he can knock back enemies and apply anti-heal effects on them.

His Ultimate ability will buff Gambit’s allies, “supercharging their jumps and adding explosive power to their attacks.” All around, sounds like a very versatile and potent Strategist, at least on paper.

As for Rogue, there are no official details on her yet. We can expect her halfway through Season 5, but her abilities are still unknown.

Gambit and Rogue aren’t the only new additions coming this season, of course. There are some new features and modes coming our way!

New Modes and Features

The first new addition is the first non-combat map, Times Square. This works as a social hub area where players can just hang out and have fun without fighting each other. Apparently, it’s inspired by the various clips that players have shared of friendly meetups in the Doom Match mode!

This season also marks the first anniversary of Marvel Rivals. So, fittingly, there will be various events celebrating the game. These will allow players to earn Units and costumes, but not many details were shared beyond a glimpse at the costumes’ concept art.

Far less friendly than that, there will also be a new 18v18 game mode: Conquest (Annihilation). This mode will play out on the new Grand Garden map and will release on November 27th, 2025.

Competitive mode is also getting a bit of a rework with the addition of a Placement system. Your first 10 ranked matches will act as placement matches, which should allow you to get back to a rank that’s more accurate to your level.

This is in contrast to the game’s previous system, where everyone just got reverted to a set rank each season. It was one of the least liked aspects of the game’s ranking system, so it’s nice to see a change on that front!

Lastly, there was also a mention of there being more to come when it comes to PvE modes. Marvel Zombies was a success, so the developers are committed to improving on it.

Of course, there will be more changes than just what we’ve mentioned. There will be more adjustments to the game’s Competitive mode, as well as many balance changes, which will be detailed more soon. It’s a promising season so far.
