Memory Slots refer to the slots where you can memorize spells to “equip” them before you can use them in combat. By default, you’ll only start with 2 Memory Slots regardless of which starting class you pick. While this is completely fine if you’re going for a melee physical build, it will be a huge disadvantage for builds that rely on sorceries and/or incantations.

Luckily, you can increase your total slots with the help of Memory Stones. There are 8 Memory Stones you can find throughout The Lands Between, giving you a total of 10 Memory Slots. Let’s find out how to find all of them.

How to Get 12 Spell Slots and Find All Memory Stone Locations in Elden Ring

As mentioned, there are a total of 8 Memory Stones in the game. These unlock a total of 8 slots; add the default 2 slots, and you have a total of 10. I’ll reveal to you the trick to get 12, but let’s talk about that later. Let’s first pinpoint the location for all 8 Memory Stones.

  • The first one can be found inside Oridys’s Rise. To get inside and loot the chest containing the stone, you’ll have to solve a puzzle involving killing 3 spirit turtles scattered within the area.
  • The second stone is found in Converted Tower. At the entrance, climb on the broken walls at the side of the tower using Torrent, then jump onto the tower and make your way to it to find a chest inside. Alternatively, you can use the Erudition gesture on the statue inside the tower, but this will take a little bit more time.
  • The third one is dropped by the Red Wolf of Radagon boss inside the Raya Lucaria Academy.
  • The fourth one is inside Tetsu’s Rise. Similar to the first stone, you’ll need to find and kill three spirit turtles to gain access to the tower.
  • The fifth stone is on top of Seluvis Rise. To get inside, you should first speak to Ranni inside Ranni’s Rise. Exhaust her dialogue then go back to the tower to find the seal broken. Simply head over to the top to loot the chest.
  • The sixth stone is on top of Lenni’s Rise. To get inside, you’ll have to mount Torrent and then jump on the spiritspring while making sure you’re facing the tower. Use double jump to land on the stairs leading to the chest.
  • The seventh stone can be purchased directly from the Twin Maiden Husks in Roundtable Hold for 3,000 runes.
  • The last memory stone is dropped by Demi-Human Queen Maggie just north of the Hermit Village, close to where Sorcerer Lusat is located.

After collecting all Memory Stones, the last thing you’ll need to get all 12 Memory Slots is to progress through Ranni’s questline and travel to the Eternal City of Nokstella. From the Nokstella site of grace, head all the way up and follow the path at the very top until you come across a chest containing the Moon of Nokstella.

You simply then have to equip it to get 2 extra Memory Slots.
