The LMG class in XDefiant is one of the smallest when it comes to variety, but it still has some extremely strong weapons to choose from.
The M60 is one of the three LMGs that you can use in XDefiant. With a magazine size of 100 and more than respectable damage at all ranges, the M60 is a must have for anyone who loves using LMGs. Before you can use the M60 though, you must first unlock it.
How to Unlock M60 Weapon
The M60 LMG can be unlocked by dealing 5000 damage to enemy equipment with LMGs. Enemy equipment in this game are things such as gadgets and devices. Like most weapon challenges in XDefiant, you can complete this challenge in as many games as you want. All of your progress will carry over between games.

How to Complete the Challenge
For this challenge, you will need to use the M249 LMG. This is because the M249 is the only LMG in the game that is unlocked by default. Luckily, the M249 is a pretty good LMG as it is pretty well-rounded when it comes to its stats. It is also pretty easy to use, making it the perfect weapon for beginners to use.
While completing the M60 weapon challenge, you can also work towards unlocking the RPK-74 LMG. You can check out our guide on how to unlock the RPK-74 for more information regarding that. Doing both together will save you a ton of time, as both weapons can be unlocked while using the M249.
If you are just starting out in XDefiant, you can make use of the game’s preset loadouts. A lot of the weapons and devices in these preset loadouts are going to be locked when you start. Having access to some of the locked items will end up making the challenges much easier.
For the M60 weapon challenge, you can get a fully loaded M249 Loadout with multiple attachments using the LMG preset. Other than a fully equipped M249, you also get access to the Proximity Mine Device. The Proximity Mine works really well with LMGs as the mines can help you cover your flanks.
Once you unlock the M60, you can equip it to any of your custom loadouts and customize your loadout however you like. Other gear such as Devices also help you make your loadout better, so make sure you unlock all the Devices in the game.
