Gear in Throne and Liberty has dozens of potential Traits, but it’s highly recommended to get the best in slot Traits to minmax your build.

Certain Traits, such as Max Health on armor, are just must-haves. Having these powerful Traits won’t make the game a cakewalk, but they sure will make things easier for you!

In this guide, we’ll tell you what the best Traits are for every single type of equipment in the game.

Best In Slot Traits For Gear – General Rules

Max Health Trait example

As a secondary, you will want the gear-specific Traits, such as Attack Speed on Gloves or Cooldown Speed on Headgear. These will be your second priority.

Lastly, if your chosen piece of gear can’t have those or you need a third Trait, you’ll have a bit of freedom when choosing.

For the most part, you should choose either Max Mana or Mana Regen whenever it’s available for you. Of course, that all depends on what Traits your gear can take!

Ranged Evasion Trait example

If the Mana Traits aren’t available, you’ll have to pick one of the following: Melee Evasion, Melee Endurance, Ranged Evasion, Ranged Endurance, Magic Evasion, or Magic Endurance.

Tanky classes and builds should focus on Endurance, while the others should focus on Evasion.

Remember, though, these are only based on priority and depend entirely on what Traits your gear can take.

If your equipment can’t take Max Health, for example, move on to lower-priority Traits like the Evasions or Endurances.

Best In Slot Traits for Every Gear Type

Example of a Belt's Traits

Anyway, with those general rules laid down, here are the best in slot Traits that are gear-specific:

  • Headgear – Cooldown Speed.
  • Top – Max Health is usually the best you can get here!
  • Gloves – Attack Speed.
  • Legs – Health Regen, but only if you have a build that relies on it.
  • Shoes – Health Regen, same as Legs.
  • Cloak – Skill Damage Resistance. If not available, you can go with Debuff Duration, Weaken Resistance, or Bind Resistance.
  • Belt – It’s the same as the Cloak, so focus on Skill Damage Resistance if possible.
  • Necklace – Skill Damage Boost is the top priority here, make sure you get it. Buff Duration and Weaken Chance are also great, but secondary after Skill Damage Boost.
  • Bracelet – Same Traits as the Cloak and Belt, so prioritize Skill Damage Resistance.
  • Ring – Can have the same Traits as Necklace, so focus on Skill Damage Boost first.
  • Weapons – Heavy Attack Chance and Critical Hit fitting of the weapon type, such as Melee on Daggers.
Example of Boots Traits

Remember, these gear-specific Traits should take second-best priority, unless otherwise stated.

So, for the most part, you would get Max Health first and then the recommended Trait we mentioned on the list.

Once you have the gear-specific recommended traits, you can follow the rest of the general rules by getting Evasion or Endurance Traits.

Anyway, now you know what the best in slot Traits are for all your gear in Throne and Liberty! Make sure to check our sister guide for help on how to get the Traits you want on your gear.
