However, there are also some that you can actually tame! Once tamed, these creatures will accompany you in your adventure and help you explore the world and even battle hostile creatures.
But how do you win them over to your side? Let’s find out!
How to Tame a Creature in Smalland: Survive the Wild
As far as we know, you can only tame five different types of creatures. These are the gecko, wolf spider, grasshopper, ladybug, and damselfly.

Smalland: Survive the Wilds: How to Tame a GeckoMar 31, 2023That said, only the ladybug and the grasshopper can be tamable without you having to defeat certain bosses. Regardless, the entire taming process is pretty similar across all tamable creatures.
To tame a creature, simply follow these steps:
- Craft the appropriate treat for the creature you wish to tame. Each of these treats has different requirements in terms of ingredients.
- Next, look for the creature you want to tame and attack them until its HP drops to below 50%.
- Once their HP goes below 50%, you’ll then be able to feed them which will then tame them shortly after.
Once you have successfully tamed a creature, you’ll then be able to have it as a companion or ride it if it’s mountable.
The utility that a tamed creature gives will depend on which creature you have. For example, ladybugs aren’t mountable, but with the Ladybug Travel Kit, you can use them as a mobile backpack to carry items for you such as silk, bottlecaps, etc.
Meanwhile, the grasshopper allows you to traverse various terrains pretty quickly due to its ability to leap long distances. If you want to tame a different creature instead, you have the option to release your tamed creature to the wild.
Unfortunately, you’re only limited to a single tamed creature, so unless you release your current one, you won’t be able to tame another.
