The Armorer Skill is one of the most useful in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered as it allows you to repair your weapons and armor.

Conveniently, you can use your Armorer Skill anywhere, too. The only thing you need is to have at least 1 Repair Hammer. Of course, though, the skill’s efficiency scales with your level at it. Maxing it out as soon as possible is a good way to ensure your gear is never in poor condition.

Read on and we’ll tell you how to repair your equipment, as well as how to level up Armorer fast!

How to Repair Weapons & Armor and Level Up Armorer Skill | Oblivion Remastered

You can repair weapons in two different ways in Oblivion Remastered. The first one, which uses your Armorer Skill, will require you to obtain Repair Hammers. You can find them everywhere in Cyrodiil as random loot, but they’re also sold by most merchants.

Once you have a Repair Hammer, find it in the Miscellaneous section of your Inventory and use it.

You’ll now see a menu that lets you select any piece of gear you have that has under 100 Durability. Just select the one you wish to repair and accept! You’ll repair a random amount of Durability. This also has a random chance to break your Repair Hammer, unless you have Armorer at Level 100.

It’s worth noting that trying to repair items like this will also level up your Armorer Skill. Succeed or fail, you’ll level it up!

Alternatively, you can select Repair whenever you’re talking to a Smith NPC, such as Urbul gro-Orkulg in the Imperial City. This will allow you to repair your equipment by just paying the NPC. However, this will not raise your Armorer Skill at all, so keep that in mind.

Leveling Armorer Fast

Now, repairing your gear yourself is best done when your Armorer Skill is maxed out. This will remove almost all limitations from using Repair Hammers and will also prevent them from breaking. This will save you a lot of money in the long run! There are two main methods to level up this skill.

The first is the more natural way. Simply carry around about 10 or more Repair Hammers with you at all times. Whenever you loot some gear you plan to sell, repair it first. Also, just repair your gear periodically as needed. This will take some time, but it’s an unobtrusive leveling method.

Alternatively, you can powerlevel the skill if you have access to Spellcrafting. This method requires just 1 Repair Hammer, too, so it’s cheap! To start this method, use Spellcraft to make two spells with the following effects:

  • Disintegrate Armor 80 points for 1 second on Self.
  • Fortify Armorer 100 points for 1 second on Self.

When you have those spells, cast Disintegrate Armor until you fully break all of your equipped armor. Then, cast Fortify Armorer and use your lone Repair Hammer to fully repair all the equipment you just broke. Rinse and repeat until you hit Level 100!

So, there you have it! That’s everything you need to be able to repair weapons and armor, as well as how to level up the Armorer Skill fast in Oblivion Remastered. Do you also want to make the most of Alchemy fast? Check out our guide on how to get the Master Alchemy Tools quickly.
