The Knotroot is basically the Tier 2 Wood in LEGO Fortnite. It’s an indispensable material for crafting your uncommon tools and upgrading your base/village, including the essential crafting bench.
Where To Find Knotroot
Once your crafting bench hits Level 2, allowing you to craft the uncommon Hatchet, it’s time to venture into a cave.
Keep in mind that the world of Lego Fortnite is randomly generated, so explore open field biomes like grasslands to find these large rock structures marking cave entrances.
Here’s a quick tip: Use a torch in your left hand, like in Minecraft, and bring along an NPC buddy when exploring caves. It makes things way easier.
You can even give the torch to the NPC, so they carry the light for you. Also, don’t forget to put a shield in your left hand for extra protection. It’s a simple trick that makes cave exploring a breeze!

Inside the cave, keep an eye out for specific wood. Look for twisted, dark gray branches rather than the typical brown ones (these will only give you wood – Boooo~).
Sometimes, these branches may be tucked away, requiring you to build stairs or platforms to reach them.
Once you identify the right wood, give it a good chop, and you’ll obtain the coveted root wood or Knotroot.
Also, you can find marbles inside these caves, and you’ll also have to use the Knotroot wood you’ll gather here to upgrade your pickaxe!

This process is a quick and straightforward way to gather the materials you need, so you can swiftly get back to the game and continue exploring.
Oh, and in case you didn’t know, you can craft your very own glider to help your exploration become more convenient than ever!
