In a gacha game like Zenless Zone Zero, you require a lot of pulls if you want to get your favorite characters. And being F2P, that can be a bit tough.

But luckily, Zenless Zone Zero is offering a ton of free pulls which you can get through various sources in the game. Potentially more than 350 free pulls if you get everything done. Let’s dive into how that is possible.

How You Can Get Up To 350 Free Pulls

First let me explain the cost of pulls. The standard banner costs 1 Master Tape for a single pull. And the exclusive banners cost 1 Encrypted Master Tape per pull. For the Bangboo banner, you will need Boopon.

Polychrome is the premium currency of this game which you can use to buy Master Tapes or Encrypted Master Tapes from the Signal Shop. One Master Tape (or Encrypted Master Tape) costs 160 Polychrome.

One more thing you should keep in mind, to actually obtain 350 free pulls or more, you will need to complete everything in the game. But that is not feasible for most players. So, a more realistic number you can expect to get from 1.0 patch is 240+ free pulls. Here’s an in-depth explanation of the Gacha system in ZZZ!

If you want to get familiar with the banners then check out our guide on the gacha system of Zenless Zone Zero.

Pre-Release Special Program

Log In Rewards - How to Get up to 350 FREE Pulls in Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.0

In the pre-release special program held by the developers of the game, they announced that you can get the following rewards from playing the launch events:

  • 1600 Polychrome
  • 70 Master Tape
  • 20 Encrypted Master Tape

Now if you combine all of these free rewards, you can make 100 character pulls and 80 Bangboo pulls.

They also mentioned a viewing gift which you can redeem through the code ZZZFREE100. It will give you 300 Polychrome and some other stuff.

Story + Commissions

Story Rewards - How to Get up to 350 FREE Pulls in Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.0

Finishing the first three chapters of the main story rewards you with 1500 Polychrome (500 per chapter). And an estimated amount of 600 Polychrome from the side quests.

Also, the Combat Commissions give 300 Polychrome and the Exploration Commissions give 840 Polychrome. And an estimated 200 Polychrome and 4 Boopon from 1st time clearing of Rally Commissions. There will also be weekly rally commissions which will offer 1 Boopon each week, so a total of 6 Boopon over the period of patch 1.0 (6 weeks).

Arcade Achievements

Arcade

Completing the following arcade achievements gives you 350 Polychrome each for a total of 1050 Polychrome:

  • Hounds III
  • Snake Duel
  • Snake Duel – Clash

VHS Stories

VHS Stories

VHS story missions (located under Commission Log) gives an estimated amount of 680 Polychrome. There will be more story missions available compared to the close beta so that is why we have to rely on an estimate for now.

Inter-Knot

Inter-Knot

The Inter-Knot has 60 levels which you can reach. Getting to the 60th level means a total reward of 1200 Polychrome, 30 Master Tape and 6 Boopon.

And if you complete all the Inter-Knot trials as well then that will also give you 800 Polychrome, 5 Master Tape and 7 Boopon.

Shiyu Defense

Defense

This is one of the endgame modes which has a total of 10 stages. Completing these stages for the first time will grant you 3000 Polychrome.

You can also get an additional 720 Polychrome from this mode which resets every 2 weeks. Meaning a total of 2160 Polychrome (3 x 720) over the period of patch.

Hollow Zero Event

Hollow Zero

Hollow Zero is the other endgame mode. Getting to the max License Level will get you 960 Polychrome and 24 Boopon. Completing the Bounty Commission every week will also get you 600 Polychrome, 6 Master Tape and 18 Boopon over the course of patch 1.0.

Other than this, clearing all the stages of the Hollow Zero event will reward you with 1340 Polychrome and 5 Master Tape.

Errands

Errands

Errands are daily tasks that you can complete. If you do it every day of patch 1.0 (42 days), then you will be able to earn 2520 Polychrome from it.

Summing Things Up

Those are all the major sources of getting different resources for pulls. There are also other things in the game that give you Polychrome, Master Tape, etc. but the amount offered by them is considerably less compared to the sources I mentioned above.

Now let’s add up all the rewards to get a total:

  • 19,650 Polychrome (worth 122 pulls when converted)
  • 116 Master Tape (used in standard banner)
  • 20 Encrypted Master Tape (used in exclusive banners)
  • 145 Boopon (used in Bangboo banner)

All of this combined is equivalent to 403 pulls. As I mentioned at the start of the article, getting all of this is not possible for the majority of players. But even if you get 60% of this, it still amounts to 240+ pulls which is by no means a small amount.
