Learning how to call your horse in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is vital. After all, you’re likely to accidentally part ways with your mount if you get distracted exploring.

However, as you might’ve realized by now, the game doesn’t actually have a simple “call horse” function. There’s no spell, item, or button that does it! However, that does not mean that there aren’t ways to recall your horse. They just aren’t as convenient as what you might be used to…

Nonetheless, read on and we’ll tell you everything you need to reunite with your horse.

How to Call Your Horse | The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered

Due to its lack of a traditional “call horse” button or command, you have to get a bit creative in Oblivion Remastered. By far the best way to reunite with your horse is to make use of the fast travel system.

Simply open up the map and fast-travel to any location you want. We personally recommend places that have the purple houses icon, as shown above. Those are settlements, so they’re generally the safest. Regardless of where you fast travel to, though, your horse will spawn alongside you after fast travel.

However, do note that this works a bit differently if you fast-travel to any city areas, which are marked by green gate-like icons. In those cases, your horse will instead appear at the stables outside the city, like the one above.

Now, this functionality can be a pain. If you’re on PC, however, you can use mods to just give yourself the ability to recall your horse. For example, check out the Horse Whistle mod by PushTheWinButton. It gives you a whistle spell that summons your horse and also makes it follow you, circumventing the need for fast travel!

So, there you have it, that’s everything you need to know to call your horse in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. It’s definitely a shame that the remaster didn’t add a proper “call horse” feature, but it does help the game stay true to the original release… for better or for worse.

It’s a shame that you can’t summon your horse to your spot, but you can at least summon minions to help you in combat. If that sounds like fun, check out our guide on how to level up Conjuration!

Gamer cursed by being interested by most games, resulting in a ridiculous backlog he’ll never be able to conquer. Been gaming for over two decades now! Few things exemplify his wide variety in gaming tastes as the fact that he’s a big fan of both Souls games and the Atelier series at the same time. Also a big fan of Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Deadly Premonition, Zero Escape, and Dead Rising, among others. Considers Lost Judgment and Sekiro to both be masterpieces.
