The abbot himself is in the southwestern part of the temple’s main courtyard, next to a collapsed wall. It’s the highest point of the temple’s grounds.
Now, there are dozens of guards close to the imprisoned abbot. If you wish to fight them head-on, we highly recommend playing as Yasuke. Get some of his best weapons and you should have an easy time clearing the temple of its dozens of guards. It’s pretty self-explanatory if you play with him, honestly. Just go through the main entrance and kill all the guards until you reach the abbot!
Easy Stealth Method for Naoe
If you wish to do this via stealth as Naoe, it’s ideal that you can do 4-5 Health Segments worth of Assassination Damage. Completing this objective with her requires more finesse, as you might imagine, so let us give you some pointers.
The best way to help the abbot as Naoe is to enter the temple from the east. Stick to the rooftops while you continue to the west until you reach the courtyard where the abbot is held.
Once you reach the area, you’ll want to try to throw a Shinobi Bell north. Time it when the large patrolling guard is standing still to the north. If you do it right, 3 of the guards will hear it and will move toward it.
This will leave only one guard looking over the abbot. Quickly assassinate him and talk with the abbot before any of the other guards turn around!
If you take too long, you might need to assassinate the other nearby guards. The large armored guard has 4 Health Segments, so keep that in mind. It’s why the Assassination Damage comes in handy!
