48 articles“Kill the Executioner” is the main objective of the “The Killing Field” story quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
Finding and putting this executioner down will help you get closer to assassinating Wada Koretake. But first, you must find the executioner! Your only clues are that he’s at Nanatsumatsu, somewhere in Izumi Settsu.

You can find the executioner for “The Killing Field” at Nanatsumatsu, in the western part of the Izumi Settsu region. He’ll be in a camp between Nakayama Peak and Amagasaki, as shown above.

The executioner himself, Shindo Hiroshii, will be standing in the middle of the camp gloating over 3 prisoners. He doesn’t seem to execute the prisoners automatically, so you have time to plan your assassination.
That said, there are multiple ways to go about this one. Ideally, we recommend sneaking into the camp from either the northern or eastern entrances. Once you do, carefully circle along the camp’s perimeter while taking out the guards. Try to avoid alerting them, as there’s quite a lot and combat would be risky!
Alternatively, you can distract Shindo Hiroshii to make him move from his location. If he notices you moving around the camp, he’ll get away from the prisoners to check. Just be careful that he doesn’t go fully alert! Nonetheless, this alternate method allows you to free the prisoners before attempting an assassination.
Either way, get close to the executioner and attempt an execution when you’re ready. He seems to have 3 Health Segments, so you’ll need to have the Assassination Damage II skill or Guaranteed Assassinations enabled to instantly kill him. Engravings that boost Assassination Damage would also work, of course.

If you don’t instantly kill him, the executioner and any remaining guards will be alerted. While in open combat, try to move away from the prisoners. You don’t want to get them killed by accident!
Nonetheless, you’ll automatically complete the “Kill the Executioner” objective once you take down Shindo Hiroshii, regardless of how you do it. Remember to free the prisoners as well and you’re done with this quest.
