Path of Exile 2 is still in early access, meaning that it is still missing various features that will be present in the full release version of the game. There are a lot of quests and other miscellaneous tasks to complete throughout the hundreds of hours that you will be playing through the early test versions, and some of them provide you with passive buffs. In this guide, we will be talking about the ancestral tattoos.

At the Halls of the Dead, you can earn some blank tattoos, and these things can give you one of two passive buffs to certain stats. In this case, all you need to do is complete a trial and you will earn a blank tattoo that you can bring to Hinekora in the Halls of the Dead.

When used at the Hinekora Totem, these items will offer you two different choices, and the ones you can obtain at the moment are the following:

  • Blank Tattoo of Tawhoa – This can be turned into either a dexterity or lightning tattoo. The former will give you a +5 buff to dexterity, while the latter will grant you an extra 5% to lightning resistance
  • Blank Tattoo of Tasalio – This can be turned into either an intelligence tattoo or a cold one. As you would expect, the former will grant a +5 intelligence buff, while the other will add an additional 5% cold resistance to your stats.
  • Blank Tattoo of Ngamahu – This one can give you either a strength tattoo or a fire tattoo. You get the point by now. Choose between a +5 strength boost or another 5% fire resistance.

That is really all there is to it. While you are here, go and check out our guide on how to make use of loot filters in Path of Exile 2 if you have not already adjusted these for your own characters. Even if you are an experienced player, you are going to need to edit these at some point if you want to farm efficiently and quickly, and farming is all you will be doing later on.
