After all, they all have a different role in battle. Some provide support, others attack directly, and there are even some which provide extra elemental coverage. They’re all useful in their own way, but you only have so many resources to level them up!
To help you out, we’ll take a look at the A-Rank Bangboo and tell you which ones are most useful.
Which A-Rank Bangboo is Worth Investing in?
Generally speaking, there are two things to keep in mind when picking your A-Rank Bangboo: their Element and their C skill. You’ll generally want to avoid Bangboo without a C skill, which is their Chain Attack.

It’s a good idea to have a spread of various Elemental A-Rank Bangboo so you can swap them in and out as needed to meet Elemental requirements, too. The main reason for this is that it’s much easier to get duplicates of A-Rank Bangboo than S-Ranks. This makes it easy to invest in multiple of them since you can rank them up more easily.
With that in mind, these are the A-Rank Bangboo that fit both criteria we’ve mentioned previously and what Element they’re good for:
- Physical – Bagboo for teams with Attack Agents, Paperboo for teams with Defense Agents.
- Ether – Devilboo
- Fire – Cryboo
- Electric – Electroboo
- Ice – Penguinboo
Which one of these A-Rank Bangboo is most worth investing in will depend on what Agents you got from the gacha in Zenless Zone Zero 1.0. Penguinboo would be the most important out of them all if you have Lycaon with his best teams, for example. Ice is the best Element in the current meta, after all!
That said, we also have to give a special mention to Avocaboo as it serves a unique role. Avocaboo is the only healer in the entire game currently, as no other Bangboo or Agents provide healing. As such, he can be a great general-use Bangboo for any team if you need healing more than elemental damage.
