After a long wait, players of Call of Duty: Warzone are in for a treat as developer Raven Software announced they’ll be adding some exciting changes to the game in 2026.

In a recent community update that Raven Software shared on X, they’ve outlined their future plans for the game.

One of the biggest updates comes in the form of large-scale map rotations.

Previously, the map rotation, which has been a common thing in most Battle Royale games, was not present in Call of Duty: Warzone, citing that the feature “wasn’t previously realistic.”

Fortunately, that’s no longer the case as Raven Software says this will be added next year.

The announcement was made as Treyarch Studios and Activision are prepping for the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 this November 14.

In the post, Raven Software said:

“We announced that we’d approach change more deliberately to preserve the original Warzone launch experience. We still stand by that, but we’re going to increase how often we release updates and refine the way we surface new features to you.”

What Other Changes Can Players Expect

There are also other changes that players can expect to come.

For starters, Raven Software pointed out that “Rebirth Island and the broader Resurgence experience have started to feel a bit stale.”

In an effort to keep the experience as fresh as possible, they revealed that they’ll be doing a “full refresh” on Season 2. This will come with a bunch of new stuff, such as a cosmetic pass, new POI updates, and several new upgrades.

Alongside that, Season 1 of Black Ops 7 will also introduce a new Resurgence map to Warzone. According to Raven Software, the so-called Haven’s Hollow map has received significant updates over the past few months.

They’ll also reintroduce map rotations to Resurgence and are currently looking for opportunities to include older maps in the future.

As of now, there’s no release date for Season 1 yet, though Raven Software mentioned that they will be releasing Warzone’s seasonal roadmap next month.

To be fair, there seems to be a solid reason why fans should be excited for Call of Duty: Warzone’s future. We’ll just have to wait and see.
