If you haven’t gotten your hands on Dune: Awakening yet, now’s the perfect time to do so. Developer Funcom has recently dropped the massive Chapter 2 free update as well as the paid Lost Harvest DLC.

At the same time, the game will be free to play for everyone during their Free Weekend event, which starts on September 11 and runs all the way to September 15. After that, the game will be available for a 20% discount until September 22.

Chapter 2 new story content

What the New Update is All About

Chapter 2 picks up on the base game’s main story following the revelations in Act 3, and it features a ton of new story content as well as some exciting additions. You’ll come across new contracts and dynamic encounters that will help keep the world of Arrakis more alive than before.

In Chapter 2, you’ll be tasked with investigating a string of murders alongside an investigator. You’ll have to go through a bunch of new areas where stealth plays a crucial role in completing your missions.

Aside from the new story content, players can also enjoy the new character recustomization feature, which includes new hairstyles and tattoos. There’s also a handful of new archetype armors to allow further character customization.

With these, you’ll be able to further customize your character and make it stand out.

A Look at the New Lost Harvest DLC

Aside from the new content update, Funcom has also released a paid DLC called Lost Harvest. It features a standalone storyline that will take players deep into the lore of Dune. It being a standalone storyline means that you don’t have to play it for the main storyline.

Nonetheless, if you’re a massive fan of Dune lore, it’s definitely worth checking out.

Moreover, anything that you can obtain from the DLC won’t give you an advantage over players who don’t own it. If anything, all you can get are cosmetics, which helps keep things fair for other players.

Some notable additions include new cosmetic armor sets, building pieces, weapon skins, decorations, the Thumper emote, and so on. There’s also the new treadwheel vehicle, which is perfect if you’re not a fan of the sandbike. It comes with its own set of unique animations, though it doesn’t provide any gameplay advantage at all.

The DLC can be purchased for $12.99 across all platforms.

Free Weekend and a 20% Discount

Lastly, Dune: Awakening will be playable for free by everyone starting September 11 until 15. This gives players a chance to experience the world of Arrakis without spending a dime. And since chapter 2 is a free update as well, new players will have tons of content waiting for them!

Dune: Awakening will also be available for 20% off from September 11 to 22. This is an opportunity for players to buy the game at a relatively cheaper price.

Also, progress during the Free Weekend will carry over should they choose to buy the game.
