There's a high chance it could be a new game, but an equal chance it's a movie or TV show.

It looks like we might be seeing a glimpse of a potential game in the Control universe soon, as a trademark was filed by Remedy Entertainment in Europe not long ago.

The trademark, which can be seen on the European Union Intellectual Property Office website, shows the title CONTROL Resonant, hinting at a potential connection to the hit game, Control.

What’s more interesting is that the trademark was applied for by Nordia Attorneys at Law LTD, which is the same law firm for all of the Max Payne trademarks.

It’s worth noting that the trademark doesn’t include Remedy’s name. However, Nordia has been in collaboration with Remedy Entertainment. A quick search on Nordia’s website shows that the two have worked together several times in the past.

There’s also the fact that the trademark is listed with a “video game services” tag. In a way, this could mean that the trademark points to a new Control title.

Could the New CONTROL Resonant Trademark Be for a Potential New Game?

For now, there’s really no telling whether this trademark will be for a potential new game in the Control universe.

Though it has a high likelihood of being that, the trademark is also filed under various categories that could mean it might turn out to be anything other than a video game. It might as well be a movie, a TV show, a DLC expansion, or even a book.

That said, it’s also worth noting that the development for Control 2 has been going on for a while, though we haven’t heard a lot of news about it.

Control 2 game

The last news we’ve heard so far was that it will be an action RPG. Other than that, information about the game is pretty much absent. Annapurna also planned on bringing the Control and Alan Wake to films and TV, which is why it’s also possible that CONTROL Resonant isn’t a game.

For now, the best thing we can do is wait for Remedy to make an official announcement or reveal for whatever CONTROL Resonant turns out to be.

Given that The Game Awards will be on December 11, there’s a possibility that Remedy might make an official announcement about it there.
