Caliber’s 0.18.0 update has introduced a bunch of new features that aim to make its gameplay better overall. A notable example is the operator upgrade as well as the new Prestige system.

In this new feature, you will be able to upgrade your operator as you gain some levels. It allows you to unlock new upgrades which are tied to the progress of your chosen operator.

In this quick guide, we’re going to have a look at how skills in the new system work and how you can upgrade your operator.

First, let’s have a look at how skills work in the new update.

Skills will be tied to your operators as they progress. However, if you want to unlock all skills, you have to unlock them from certain operators who have them as a Personal Skill.

Since each operator has his own Personal Skill, you will need to own all operators if you want to unlock all of the game’s skills.

Luckily, if you have played the game prior to the 0.18.0 update, you will be able to get all skills for free. They’re even fully upgraded!

One thing to keep in mind is that skills aren’t role-specific. For example, you can only use the Snug Fit skill on an Assault or Marksman currently. With the update, however, you will be able to equip it even on a Medic or Support.

Also, you can level up every skill to level 3, and the higher its level is, the more benefits you can get. But to do that, you need to use the operator who owns that skill you want to level up.

Changes to the Leveling System

Talking about the upgrades, the new leveling method in the update now grants a non-linear progression for your operator.

As you gain levels all the way to level 15, you will be able to pick an upgrade.

You can freely switch any upgrade on a certain level anytime you want. However, you will need a special Retraining Manual every time you do so.

Also, rather than Elite and Master ranks, the system will be replaced by the Prestige system. As you can see in the image above, you will receive extra upgrades whenever you hit a certain level.

This caps at level 15, until which you can then reset an operator’s progress and gain a Prestige level in return.

Once that happens, an operator will be able to keep his Personal Skill level. Meanwhile, all upgrades will become locked and you’ll have to level up once again to unlock them.

Keep in mind that Prestige has no level cap. Also, the higher your Prestige level, the more bonus your operator can get from Free XP.
