Guilds Tier List – All Guilds Ranked From Best to Worst | Oblivion Remastered

Number 1: Dark Brotherhood

A classic fan favorite, so we doubt anyone would be surprised to see it at the top of our list! The Dark Brotherhood really makes you feel like a true assassin with its unique quest design. Plus, you’ll get loads of unique items as rewards for your work. To top it all off, you’ll meet a lot of the game’s most engaging characters as you dive into the brotherhood’s story!

It’s a fan favorite for a good reason, and well worth experiencing at least once. We only recommend against it if you don’t really feel like playing a “morally dubious” character.

Number 2: Thieves Guild

Gameplay-wise, the Thieves Guild is probably the most helpful. Not only do you get access to doyen who can clear your bounties without arrest, you also get access to fences that allow you to sell stolen goods easily. The guild also has an interesting story and characters, as these thieves aren’t exactly what you might assume at first.

Now, with that said, this guy isn’t particularly great if you aren’t doing much thieving. If you don’t sneak around or steal things, you really won’t get much out of it.

Number 3: Fighters Guild

The humble Fighters Guild is a great one to join early on, as it gives you access to more companions and quests via contracts. Plus, you’ll get a monthly salary that’s paid in gold and/or items! Some of the quests you get access to can be pretty entertaining, too, particularly the ones involving the Blackwood Company.

If there’s one notable downside to this guild, it’s just that it doesn’t really have any unique rewards. You get some good stuff, sure, but it’s all common stuff. Additionally, some people find the archetypal knights and warriors of the guild a bit bland for their taste.

Number 4: Mages Guild

If this were the original Oblivion without its DLC, the Mages Guild would be a bit higher. However, in Oblivion Remastered, we have to put it a bit lower in our best guilds tier list.

This is because your main reward for progressing through the guild’s questline was the ability to use Spellmaking. However, since Oblivion Remastered includes the original release’s DLC, you can get Spellmaking much earlier by just unlocking the Frostcrag Spire house.

That aside, the Mages Guild does give you access to some Master-level spell vendors after completing its questline. It’s just that most of the quests aren’t particularly entertaining, honestly. Plus, anyone who’s not engaging with magic can safely ignore the guild without missing much.

Number 5: Arena

Despite counting as a major guild, the Arena doesn’t really have much to it. You get to take on ranked combat encounters where you fight different opponents mostly just to earn money. It doesn’t really provide any unique benefits and has basically no story to it, sadly.

The Arena is just there for some extra combat encounters and that’s it. Not exactly the most riveting content, truth be told…

So, there you have it, that’s our tier list ranking all of the best guilds in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. Safe to say, we doubt any of these are seen as hot takes. Plus, as a reminder, you can join all of the guilds at once if you wish!

Venezuelan gamer cursed by being interested by most games, resulting in a ridiculous backlog he’ll never be able to conquer. Been gaming for over two decades now! Few things exemplify his wide variety in gaming tastes as the fact that he’s a big fan of both Souls games and the Atelier series at the same time. Also a big fan of Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Deadly Premonition, Zero Escape, and Dead Rising, among others. Considers Lost Judgment and Sekiro to both be masterpieces.
