The Mosin Nagant is a unique weapon in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, as it’s a special sniper that fires tranquilizer rounds. This allows Snake to knock out guards non-lethally from long range, of course. It’s a lot more convenient than trying to snipe with the Mk22, that’s for sure! However, there’s only one very special way to get this weapon, which is what we’ll tell you about in this guide.

Mosin-Nagant Tranquilizer Sniper Location | Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

The only way to get the Mosin-Nagant sniper in this game is to defeat The End non-lethally. That means you’ll need to progress the story until the full boss fight starts in Sokrovenno South.

Worth noting here, alternate kill methods will not count. Killing him early at Ponizovje or passing the time to wait for his natural death will not reward you with the Mosin-Nagant. Obviously, that also means that killing him with lethal damage will not get you the Mosin-Nagant either.

As such, you specifically need to use weaponry that reduces his Stamina, such as the Mk22 tranquilizer gun and Stun Grenades. If you’re on Very Easy difficulty, the EZ Gun is probably your best choice, of course. The Cig-Spray (cigarette-shaped narcosis gun) can also be used if you manage to sneak up on The End. He can be held up like regular guards, making it easy to just spray him in the face!

Just in case, Stamina is the thinner bar below The End’s Health. Avoid damaging his Health and focus on just his Stamina.

Fighting The End

The key to this fight is to be patient. The End will hunt you with his sniper, aided by his parrot that acts as a spotter. If you have the Thermal Goggles, you can try using them to spot both The End and his parrot. You can tranquilize the parrot to capture it as well, greatly crippling The End’s awareness.

Either way, you just need to avoid being spotted by The End while you try to figure out his location. When you do find him, try to deal as much Stamina damage as possible. Ideally, go for headshots with the Mk22 for high damage.

Once you manage to exhaust The End’s Stamina bar, the cutscene of his defeat will play. You can find the Mosin-Nagant in a box in the nearby area, usually where The End passed away. Collect it like every other item in the game and you’re all done here!

That’s how to get the Mosin-Nagant tranquilizer sniper in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. Again, be patient with The End’s fight. It’s a long and slow fight, so it can take a bit to defeat him… but it’s also one of the most unique boss fights in a game, so at least it’s an enjoyable one.
