In Monster Hunter Wilds, there are a lot of side quests and other optional stuff that you can complete for various rewards, and they often involve capturing or killing smaller creatures. During the Samin’s Research Report side quest, you have to capture a single Dapperwing, which you might be struggling to find. In this guide, we will give you a quick rundown of where you can catch some!

Capture a Dapperwing Location (Samin’s Research Report)

Starting from the base camp in the forest zone, just hop on your Seikret and sprint over to area 2, which is just a light jog away. Once you reach the swampy zone with red water, you will find Dapperwings all around this place, though they might not be immediately visible to you.

Look at the trees and have your Capture Net equipped and ready to use. Aim up and look for birds perched up at the trees, then launch your net until you get one of them. That is pretty much all there is to it. No need to overcomplicate it.

Luckily, they do not panic if you miss your net. Just make sure to aim high to reach them, and you should be able to catch at least one, which is enough to satisfy Samin’s requirements. Once you have caught one, just report back to finish the quest!

The only thing to note here is that there is a small chance that you might not find any. When this happens, try to fast travel back and forth or rest at the tent for a bit to potentially force them to respawn.
