Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater has now gotten a complete makeover after over two decades since the original version’s release, but the game is still almost the exact same as it was back then in many ways. With that in mind, the items that you find in each level might not be in the spots that you remember them being found at all those years back. Luckily, that isn’t really the case for the night vision goggles, so let us show you where it is if you have forgotten.

Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater – Night Vision Goggles Location

First up, if you have not already seen our guide on where to find all of the Kerotans and Ga-kos in the Chyornaya Peschera cave area in Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater, make sure to check that out first. Specifically, go through the first part of the guide, since this is the same place we will be going to.

When you are ready to find the first Kerotan of this level, crawl under the crevice near where the green check mark is in the map image below. This will take you to a small cave where the Kerotan is located, but more importantly, the night vision goggles are going to be on the ground right in front of it.

Be careful not to fall into the hole in the middle of this small clearing, at least not until you grab the night vision goggles. Once you pick up the little floating crate in front of the frog statue up above, that is it, you now have the NVGs!

That is really all there is to it! It is not exactly a hidden item, as it is literally right out in the open with a beam of sunlight even shining over it. The only reason you might have missed it is the fact that it is a little out of the way.

There are a whole lot of other collectibles to find all throughout the rest of the game. In case you missed it early on, there are actually new secrets and useful items to collect in a previous area that you eventually revisit. For more information, check out our guide on all collectibles (Kerotans & Ga-kos) in your second visit to Rassvet in Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater!
