Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater has now gotten a fresh new remake after over a decade since the original version first came out, but the game is still the exact same as it was back then in almost every aspect. Yes, even the locations for all of the stuff are largely the same, if not exactly where they are all found in the past. If you need help, this list will have all of the places you need to check!

Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater – All Weapon Locations

There are a lot of weapons that you can find in the map, but in this guide, we will only be covering the ones that are not automatically given to you as a part of the story. With that said, some of these are also going to be repeat weapons as well. Here is the list of locations to check:

  • SVD #1 – You can find an SVD as soon as you enter the Dremuchij North area. Simply run to the rightmost part of the zone to find it on the ground. This is the earliest opportunity for you to get this sniper rifle.
  • XM16E1 #1 – This is found at Dolinovodno. After crossing the wooden bridge, do not proceed to the objective yet. Check under the bridge, as there is a ledge here that you can slowly move through. Here, you will find the XM16E1 in a small cavity along the rock face.
  • M37 #1 – This is found in the ruined building in Rassvet. Just look around and you will find it on the ground behind some crates.
  • AK47 – This is also found in Rassvet, at the second floor of the ruined building when you return to this area later on.
  • M37 #2 – This second M37 is found in Chyornaya Peschera Cave, and all you need to do is take the path to the right as soon as you enter the zone.
  • SVD #2 – The second SVD of the game can be found in Ponizovje West. Simply take a left before you continue to the objective. You will find a dock with a building that has a yellow door. Enter this building to find the SVD on the ground.
  • XM16E1 #2 – This second XM16E1 is found in Graniny Gorki Lab Exterior. You will find it in the small shed at the back, to the right of the main building’s entrance.
  • M63 – This is found at the Svyatogornyj East area. In the house, you will find it behind a bunch of crates in one of the rooms. It is on the ground, and you can’t miss it.
  • Mosin Nagant – You get this after defeating The End in a non-lethal manner. We will not spoil anything else about this, so good luck with the fight.
  • RPG-7 – This is found at the Krasnogorje Mountainside area. Check at one of the small dugouts near the turrets in this area. It is impossible to miss once you find the dugout.
  • Scorpion – You find this at the Groznyj Grad Weapons Lab: East Wing area. You will need to be disguised for this, and it is in the storage room at the first floor.

And those are all of the weapons that you can find in the game, excluding those that are given to you as a part of the story or through means that do not include “finding” them.

There are a whole lot of other collectibles to discover all throughout the rest of the game. In case you missed it on your revisit, there are actually new items to get in a previous area that you eventually come back to. For more information, check out our guide on all collectibles (Kerotans & Ga-kos) in your second visit to Rassvet in Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater!
