Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater has now gotten a remake after over two decades since the original’s release, but the game itself is still almost the exact same as it was back then in many aspects. With that said, the collectibles that you find in each level might not be in the spots that you remember them being found at all those years back. In this guide, we will be going over the ones in Chyornyj.

The Chyornaya Peschera zone includes three different “maps”, and each level of this cave has its own set of collectibles to find. To simplify your search, we will be sharing some map images that have a highlight of where the Ga-ko (orange) and Kerotan (Green) can be found in the area.

For the first part, refer to the map image below to see where the collectibles are in the CHyornaya Peschera Cave Branch area. The Ga-ko is found on top of some rocks between the short waterfalls. The Kerotan is in a smaller cave that you can crawl into.

Next, in the second level of the cave system, you will find the Kerotan above you once you reach where the green check mark is in the image below. Look towards where the cave opens up and where sunlight is shining through. You will notice a small green figure there, which is none other than the Kerotan itself.

Similarly, the next Ga-ko is found in a small opening where sunlight shines through as well. After running through a narrow footpath along a rock wall and reaching the end of this walkway, you will find the perfect angle to spot a Ga-ko up above in the hole where the sunlight is coming from.

Finally, as you go through the last part of the cave, you will find another pair at the spots shown in the map image below. These ones are much less hidden than the others, so they will be easier to find.

First, the Kerotan is found in a little corner away from the main path. You will need to clear the claymores on the ground before you can enter this little circle in the map where it can be found. After taking out the claymores, look behind you. On top of the natural archway that you entered through, you should see the Kerotan sitting right there.

Lastly, as you approach the spot where the orange check mark is on the map below, you will see a large fissure ahead of you. At the base of this large crevice will be a cleverly camouflaged Ga-ko that you can shoot to claim.

And that is all for this long cave system. There are various other stuff you can collect that are not technically “collectibles”, so make sure to explore every nook and cranny while you are in there. There are a few uniforms to unlock throughout this zone, including one that you can unlock through a boss fight.

There are plenty more “secrets” to collect all throughout the game. In case you missed it earlier, there are actually new items to collect in a previous area that you eventually come back to.
