Ice Skates are useful when exploring the ice area in Terraria. Equipping it and walking on ice surfaces will make you accelerate faster, slide much shorter, and falling on ice will not cause it to break when using the ice Skates.

They are found on Frozen Chests or crates and also on boreal crates scattered in the world and the Skates can also be used as crafting material for Frostspark Boots and Artic Diving Gear.

In this guide, we will show you how to easily get the Ice Skates by creating a new world seed and showing you where it is located in Terraria 1.4.4

How to Get Ice Skates

Create a new world in Terraria. Use the seed on the image above. You can choose any difficulty for the world since the ice Skates are available on pre-hard mode so the world difficulty will not be an issue here.

Travel right to get to the Cave in the Ice Biome

Once you reach the ice Biome, head further right until you find a Cave entrance that leads down.

Head inside the Cave

Look for the Cave in the image above and head straight down until you reach an abandoned house at the bottom.

Look for the frozen chest to get the Ice Skates

The frozen chest will be located on the top floor of the abandoned house. Open the chest to find the ice Skates among the stashed loot inside. Now you will have extra mobility when exploring the ice world. Be sure to look for the other materials to upgrade your Ice Skates into an artic diving gear or  Frostspark Boots.
