Terraria 1.4.4 Labor of Love Update introduces a number of exciting new traps for you to craft and watch out for.

These traps can help you defend your base, help defeat bosses and identify them in the field so you know what to look out for.

With Terraria having a good number of Traps already Craftable in the game, you might overlook the new ones that were introduced in the latest content update.

We’ve got you covered in that area because, in this guide, we will be showing you all the new traps and how to Craft them in Terraria 1.4.4.

How to Find Every Trap in Terraria 1.4.4 Update

Since there is quite a number of new traps, let’s get down to it. The first trap is the Venom Dart Trap. These can be crafted by combining x2 spider webs and a dart trap from the workbench.

Being hit by this trap gives continuous venom damage. Being caught in one can be a problem since you will need an antidote to heal yourself from the status effect.

Just be careful not to get caught in this 3 to 4 times in a row because their venom stacks and you might end up dead before you can use your antidote.

TNT Barrel

The TNT Barrel can be crafted by combining 1x barrel and x3 sticks of dynamite from your workbench. This is a fairly common trap in other games and it’s good that they made this available in Terraria.

Hitting the Barrel will cause it to explode, dealing high enough explosive damage for you to watch out for.

One thing to note with the TNT Barrel in Terraria is that it doesn’t damage blocks so if you are planning to use these for tunnelling or clearing areas then you’re out of luck.

Bouncing Boulder

This trap can be crafted with x1 heavy boulder and x5 paint gel from your heavy workbench.

The bouncing boulder bounces around the area dealing damage to anything it hits. Provided it’s a living thing since walls and blocks can’t be damaged by this boulder. As it bounces, it picks up speed so steer clear from them until they come to a complete stop.

Life Crystal Boulder

Combining a Life Crystal and a boulder from a heavy workbench in the graveyard Biome will give you the Life Crystal Boulder. This works like a regular boulder but if it breaks, it will give you a life crystal.

Chest Lock

As its name suggests, the Chest Lock lets you lock Chests in your world. These include all the chest Biome variants as well as normal Chests. To Craft these, you will need an anvil, x2 chains and x5 bones.

Gas Trap

Finally, we have the gas Trap. Gas traps are made by throwing a whoopie cushion into a pool of shimmering liquid. The whoopie cushion can be made by throwing a zombie arm into the same shimmer liquid.

When placed inside Chests, the gas trap will burst and send a cloud of poison gas to anyone who opens the chest. Be sure to remember which Chests you set the gas trap in because the trap will trigger even for you.
