The game Slime Rancher 2 is not just about collecting and farming the slimes of your dreams on this alien planet all alone. To support life and the continuously increasing population of slimes, you have to work hard as well in finding resources, crafting materials, and upgrading your tools.

One of the most prominent resources in Slime Rancher 2 is the silky sand. At first glance, you may think of it as something unimportant that doesn’t have any use in the game. This resource appears to be like a geyser of mud that keeps splashing until it is collected.

Despite its unpleasant appearance, it actually is a highly needed resource together with the Fabricator.

To help you farm silky sand, we made this brief guide to help you work faster.

How to Get Silky Sand in Slime Rancher 2

The first step in successfully collecting silky sand is to know the perfect place for it. Basically, you can see it anywhere around the map. If you are into exploring areas, there is a high possibility of you discovering silky sand.

However, if you are looking for a place that you can surely see lots of it, then you would probably want to go to sandy beaches or anywhere near the edge of the shore.

Silky sand will appear to be something that is bursting from the ground. As mentioned before, it is just like a geyser of mud that will just keep on splashing over. It will actually just be easy for you to notice it since it can easily catch your attention.

Now, for you to collect it, you must have a Resource Harvester first. You can obtain this by crafting it using the Fabricator. It will require 450 Newbucks and 10 Cotton Plorts.

If you already have the Resource Harvester, then collecting silky sand will be just a piece of cake for you. Simply equip it, aim at the silky sand and suck it up. You will know if you have vacuumed all the silky sand when the geyser is no longer there.
