One of the coolest additions to Tears of the Kingdom comes in the form of environmental effects.

For example, if you wander in the open world during a thunderstorm, you might get struck by lightning.

Not only can this be annoying, but it can deal a lot of damage to your hearts, not to mention it will knock off any weapon you’re currently holding.

Luckily, there’s a simple way to get lightning resistance in the game, and we’ll show you how to do this trick.

One of the most common ways to get lightning resist in Tears of the Kingdom is to simply unequip all of the metal gear you’re wearing.

You’ll be able to tell that Link is about to get hit by a lightning strike when he starts glowing and there are lightning sparks near him.

To avoid getting hit, you’ll want to unequip any gear that has metal in it, including your armor, shields, and weapons.

However, this can be rather tedious, especially if you have to do it every time.

As you progress to the later parts of the game, you can gain full immunity to lightning strikes with the Thunder Helm and Rubber set.

But then again, you won’t be able to get them early on.

Instead, your best option is to simply equip any stone or wooden gear.

A simple weapon such as the Thick Stick is all you need to get lightning resist. And by that, it means that lightning strikes won’t even target you.

This is a pretty simple trick that works all of the time. You don’t even need to go through the hassle of unequipping stuff or using certain sets.

The only thing you have to worry about is trying to fight enemies under an ongoing thunderstorm.
