“Amidst the Stars” is a new event added to Wuthering Waves with the launch of update 1.3.
This event requires you to complete a pair of quests to collect photos and information about the Tethys’ Deep and Black Shores Archipelago area. This involves both the eponymous “Amidst the Stars” quest as well as the “Cerulean Echoes Adrift in the Winds” quest chain. Complete the entire event to get some fantastic loot!
In this guide, we’ll tell you how to complete every step of the “Amidst the Star” event, including all of the quests required for it.
Amidst the Stars Quest Guide
To start the “Amidst the Stars” event in Wuthering Waves, you’ll first need to finish the “Beyond the Shore’s End” main quest. That essentially means you need to exhaust all of the main story content as of Wuthering Waves 1.3!
Once you’ve met that pre-requisite, you’ll first need to find KU-Cass at the spot marked above to start the “Amidst the Stars” quest. Yes, there’s both a quest and an event with the same name, as we mentioned before. Anyway, KU-Cass is right in the middle of the Tethys Hub in the Black Shores Archipelago.
Talk to KU-Cass there and he’ll task you with finding areas described by clues and taking or finding photos of them.
In total, you’ll need to take and find 6 different photos. The first 4 photos are part of the “Amidst the Stars” quest itself, while the final 2 are part of the “Cerulean Echoes Adrift in the Winds” quests.
With that laid down, let’s go over where to get each one of these 6 photos. We’ll be going in the same order as what the in-game event shows.
The first photo location is the TD Observatory in the northern part of the Black Shores Archipelago. Fast travel to the Resonance Beacon there to start.
After you fast-travel, go to the edge of the cliff to the east.
You will find some Ancient Surveying Equipment there, and interact with it.
Once you’re done inspecting the equipment, equip and use your Camera. You need to take a picture showing the entirety of the main complex in the Black Shores. Get all 3 markers in the area into the camera’s lens and they will become green, as shown above. Take the photo then to complete the objective.
Photo 2 | Amidst the Stars Quest
For the second photo, you’ll need to take go to the depths of the Black Shores. Switch to the Tethys’ Deep map and head to the Eidoscope area. You can fast-travel there using the nearby Resonance Beacon.
After you fast-travel, go up the stairs to the southwest, following the quest marker.
When you reach the marked area, use your Sensor utility. It will reveal a note on the eastern table there, shown above. Just interact with the note to automatically obtain the second photo and complete this part of the “Amidst the Stars” quest!
Photo 3 | Amidst the Stars Quest
The third photo is also in the Tethys’ Deep area, this time in the Modulation Hall. As always, fast travel to the nearby Resonance Beacon to make things easier.
From the Resonance Beacon, go southwest and follow the quest marker to the bus station-looking location shown above.
Just like the previous photo, you’ll need to use your Sensor utility again. This will reveal an ancient terminal on top of the station’s roof.
Climb onto the station’s roof and interact with the ancient terminal to obtain the third photo for the “Amidst the Stars” quest.
Photo 4 | Amidst the Stars Quest
Time for the final photo required for the “Amidst the Stars” quest in Wuthering Waves. This one requires you to head to the outer part of the Bank of Life in the Tethys’ Deep. Use the Resonance Beacon marked above.
After you fast-travel, make your way to the balcony by the Bank of Life’s entrance. You should spot a hologram of the Shorekeeper there, in the same place where you met her at the end of the “Legacy of the Lasting Night” quest. Interact with the hologram once you approach it and it will disappear.
From that same spot, face north and use your Camera utility. You need to take a picture of the Data Torrent in the Tethys’ Deep. It’s a gigantic column of light, so you can’t miss it. The border of your camera will turn green when the Data Torrent is in focus, like in the example above. Snap this final photo to complete the “Amidst the Stars” quest in Wuthering Waves!
However, there are still two more photos required for you to complete the “Amidst the Stars” event itself, even if you did complete the eponymous quest.
Photo 5 | Cerulean Echoes Adrift in the Winds: Part I
The 5th photo for the “Amidst the Stars” event in Wuthering Waves requires you to complete the “Cerulean Echoes Adrift in the Winds: Part I” side quest. To start it, fast travel to the Tethys Hub Resonance Beacon in the Black Shores Archipelago.
Once there, you should get a call from KU-Key asking you to help him rescue some Aetherfins. Followthequest marker shown above to start the quest.
You’ll find KU-Key being attacked by some creatures, take them out and save the poor little robot! Talk with him once the monsters are gone. He’ll task you with clearing some corrupted data cores nearby using his clearance key.
Just interact with KU-Key then follow the quest marker to the corrupted core.
The corrupted core looks like a large orange cube.
Having now freed the Aetherfins, KU-Key will tell you that the Aetherfins wish to take you somewhere. Follow the quest marker to the nearby shore and you’ll be able to start a surfing minigame to follow the Aetherfins.
The minigame itself is simple. You just need to make sure to go through the blue rings while avoiding the red rings with a cross.
Reach the end of the path and listen to KU-Key talk about the Aetherfins. You’ll automatically get the 5th photo as soon as KU-Key finishes talking.
Photo 6 | Cerulean Echoes Adrift in the Winds: Part II
You can get this photo after you obtain Photo 5 and unlock the “Cerulean Echoes Adrift in the Winds: Part II” side quest. To start the quest, meet KU-Key near the Modulation Hall in the Tethys’ Deep. Talk to him once you reach him there.
KU-Key will spawn a portal for you to go through to a new area. Just go right in through the portal as he instructs.
Once you appear in the new area, find KU-Key and talk with him. He’ll be in front of you to the north, across the river.
Just like before, you’ll need to take KU-Key to clear the corrupted cores nearby. The first one is directly west of KU-Key’s position and you can reach it by just jumping up the ledge.
For the second one, go back to KU-Key. He’ll spawn a Data Wall next to himself. Interact with KU-Key to get clearance, then shoot the Data Wall to spawn a portal. Go through the portal as usual once it appears.
The corrupted core will be right in front of you as you emerge out of the portal, so just use KU-Key to clear it as you have before. Some Tacet Discords will appear to attack you after clearing the corruption, but they should pose no threat to you… defeat them all!
The Aetherfins Await You Once Again
Return to KU-Key after defeating the enemies and he’ll spawn yet another portal for you, leading to the Aetherfins’ location. He might be overusing these portals a bit, but they definitely come in handy. Just go through the portal as KU-Key tells you.
Once you go through the portal, interact with the nearby Aetherfins. This will start another surfing minigame, identical to the one you did already for Part I of the “Cerulean Echoes Adrift in the Winds” quest. Avoid the red rings and go through the blue rings until you reach the goal.
A cutscene will instantly start once you complete the surfing minigame, allowing you to see the Aetherfins dance once again. What’s more, this will finally unlock the 6th and final photo for the “Amidst the Stars” event in Wuthering Waves! Congratulations, you got all of them!
