The “Bad Blood” quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is given to you by Bozhena, who asks you find Pavlena, her daughter.

Pavlena is a humble basket-weaver and she used to visit Toskowitz fairly often. Why would a humble lass like her just up and disappear, though? It’s time for Detective Henry to get to the bottom of this and find her whereabouts!

Read on and we’ll tell you everything you need to do to find Pavlena in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

Where To Find Pavlena | Bad Blood Quest

The first thing you need to do to find Pavlena in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is ask the residents at Troskowitz. For this step, you’ll first need to find and ask Scribe Gaibl. He doesn’t have a set location and likes to wander around the town, however, so you’ll need to look for him. Ask him about Pavlena once you find him.

Scribe Gaibl will tell you to go ask Dushko, a woodcutter. He should know about Pavlena and her boyfriend, Roman. You can find him in the eastern part of the town. He will be wandering withing the area marked as D in-game.

Once you get a hold of Dushko, talk with him. He’ll say Roman has disappeared and is wondering what’s up with that. He’ll tell you it’s a good idea to try checking out Roman’s house, surely Roman didn’t leave empty-handed?

Follow Dushko’s clue and go to Roman’s house. It should be marked as E in your in-game map, it’s in the eastern part of Troskowitz. It’s not too far from where you found Dushko!

To enter the house itself, you have two options. One is to lockpick the main entrance and another is to use a ladder on the side of the building. If you want to lockpick the door, check out our tips and tricks to make lockpicking easier. Either way, make your way to the living room in the house and Henry will notice signs that Pavlena was here after all!

After checking out the house, return to Dushko and tell him what you found. He’ll tell you about a little spot where Pavlena and Roman usually meet. Seems that’s our next destination in this wild goose chase…

Roman’s Whereabouts and Dealing With Pig Farmers

Now, leave Troskowitz and go directly southeast to reach the spot Dushko talked about.

Once you get to the spot, you’ll notice a lot of blood. You can inspect this spot for some extra clues, such as checking the bloodied rock. If you have Mutt here with you, you can have him sniff the blood and follow him.

If you don’t have Mutt, however, just follow the trail of blood going east.

You’ll end up finding poor Roman dead and half-buried at the end of the trail. Poor guy’s being munched on by a pig, too… investigate the corpse and you’ll hear a nearby pig farmer calling out for the lost pig. Go talk with the farmer and inquire about Roman’s corpse.

The pig farmer, Hugo, will mention that one of the farmhands came rushing out of the woods with a spade in hand. His name is Straw, and he’s our only lead right now.

Go directly west of where you are to reach the farm where Straw works.

Straw is a white young man with short blond hair. Not a particularly unique description, but it is what we have! Once you find him, speak with him and confront him about Roman. You might have to fight him depending on your dialogue choices here, so be ready for that. If you do fight, though, he’ll give up after taking a little damage.

Either way, Straw will tell you about how his brother Ota kidnapped Pavlena. It seems he took her to a gorge nearby, too. Finally, we’re getting closer to finding the lass!

Find Pavlena at the Gorge

Now that Straw is dealt with and you know what’s going on, go south of Troskowitz to reach the gorge.

Walk along the cliffs and you should spot an opening with a wooden ladder. Watch out, though, as there should also be a dog standing guard. You can scare it off or fight it, the choice is yours. Either way, go past the dog and use the ladder.

Go into the middle of the gorge and you’ll hear Ota call out to you. Approach him carefully, as he holds Pavlena hostage! Your dialogue choices here will decide whether or not Ota kills Pavlena or not. If you wish to save Pavlena, use the following dialogue choices:

  • “My name is Henry.”
  • “Bozhena sent me.”
  • “Pavlena is pregnant.”

This will defuse the hostage situation, so Ota will let go of Pavlena… though Pavlena will take the opportunity to get revenge for Roman. Well, we doubt Ota will be missed much, to be frank!

Nonetheless, that’s everything you need to know to be able to find Pavlena during the “Bad Blood” quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. Whether or not you decide to go through with saving her at this point is up to you, though, of course.
