One of the most important aspects of Terraria is terrain traversal. Unlike games like Minecraft, movement in Terraria is quite different. In this game, you won’t be able to swim and will instead sink like a rock. However, you can circumvent this issue with the help of the Water Walking Boots.

Let’s find out how you can get these boots in this guide.

How to Get Water Walking Boots in Terraria

The only way to get Water Walking Boots in the game is by looting them from Water Chests as well as Ocean and Seaside Crates. Unfortunately, it’s a rare item with only a 9% chance of spawning inside the chests. This means you’ll need a bit of luck since it relies heavily on RNG.

There are several ways to look for Water Chests and Ocean Crates. Obviously, you’ll want to head over to the ocean. Once you get there, make sure to equip your fishing rod and wait until you get lucky and catch an Ocean Crate.

Meanwhile, Water Chests are quite easy to find as they’re normally in water pools that are more than 250 tiles.

Most of the time, you can find them in the ocean, but there are also cases where they spawn in floating lakes.

What the Water Walking Boots Do

As the name implies, the Water Walking Boots let you walk on water. This makes them pretty handy for traversing water and even honey. You can even upgrade them into more powerful versions.

There’s the Lava Waders which let you walk in lava safely. Not only that, but they also let you submerge in it for 7 seconds without taking any damage.

Then there’s the Obsidian Water Walking Boots which grant the normal ability of the base boots and as well as an immunity to burning.
