Knowing what skills to unlock, both active and passive, is the most crucial part of leveling up your character. However, you can only do this after earning SP or Skill Points.

Skill points are used to learn and upgrade a character’s skill.

As a beginner player of Star Ocean The Divine Force, it may be a bit confusing for you how and where to spend your skill points.

Each of the characters has a different set of skill trees. Some have more choices of attacks that are attack-based, intel-based, etc. At the end of each branch of the skill tree, you can see the final upgrade of the skill.

So, in deciding which skills to unlock, you have to consider if the final skill is worth your time and skill points.

Having said that, here are some of the early skills you want to unlock per character.

Raymond

For Raymond, the first three skills that you can unlock are Auto Healing, First Aid, and Food Feelings. Each skill will require you to use 50 skill points.

As an attack-based character, Auto Healing and First Aid are one of the most needed skills to have. With Auto Healing, Raymond can heal at regular intervals even during a fight. While First Aid gives him a chance of getting some HP when taking damage.

Laeticia

The most important skill that you have to unlock first for Laeticia is the Determined Princess. This makes Laeticia reduce her EXP gains while increasing her allies’ EXP.

Aside from that, you should also learn Auto Healing and First Aid.

Albaird

Albaird is an intel-based character so his skills will be way different from the previous two.

Still, Auto Healing and First Aid are important to have since they are the skills that you can choose.

Aside from that, also learn the Longer Punishment to extend the duration of ailments you deal. Weapons Expert is also one to buff the effect of the factor on the equipped weapon. Lastly, the Rainy Day Fund slightly increase the amount of Fol earned.

Nina

Lastly is Nina. She is the kind of character that needs a lot of defense. With that, get her the Auto Heal and First Aid as well.

One good thing you have to unlock in the long run is the Hide. As implied in its name, it allows Nina to be invisible whenever she wants.
