Path of Titans has finally come to both PlayStation and Xbox consoles. As such, fans of this genre will have something new and fresh to look forward to. If you’re completely new to Path of Titans and are trying out the game for the first time, then I’ll cover the top things you need to know in this guide.

Beginner’s Guide | Top Things You Need to Know in Path of Titans

Before anything else, make sure that you have either PlayStation Plus or Microsoft Xbox Live in order to play the game. After all, the game is online-only. While you can play singleplayer, you will still need to stay online.

Now onto the beginner’s guide.

Choosing Your Dino

You start the game with an option of which dino you want to play as. Aside from that, you can choose to play as a carnivore or an herbivore depending on your preference. You can also choose which type of dinosaur to play with and whether it will be a male or a female.

You can also pick some form of a “class” that will give you a variation on your dino’s appearance. This will also grant you bonuses on either defense, speed, or neither of them. As of now, there are 12 carnivores and 13 herbivores, with a T-Rex yet to make its arrival.

Server Types

Official servers will always be a PVP server, save for a few community servers which will have their own set of rules depending on the community. This means that when you join an official server, expect other players/dinos to attack you after completing the tutorial.

If you don’t want any of the PVP part, you can choose to play on your own via the singleplayer mode.

Quests

The game will have quests that you need to complete to obtain certain rewards. There are local quests that you need to complete within your current area. These quests are quite easy to complete as they mostly involve a simple gathering of stuff, hunting creatures, etc.

If you leave the local area with a local quest still pending, the game will give you a 5-minute countdown to return to that area and finish the quest.

Home Cave

You can come across a home cave somewhere on the map where you can customize various aspects of it. The level of customization includes adding cosmetics to your cave, changing its overall layout, and more. Also, any currency that you use to unlock abilities can also be used to purchase cosmetics that you can add to your cave.

Age Affects Your Abilities

The number of abilities you can get for your dino will depend on its age, with several abilities gated behind a certain age. As your dino grows up, you will start to unlock newer and better abilities that can help with your overall survival.

As you reach the adolescent stage, you’ll be able to mix and match various abilities and more. All of these can be customized inside your home cave.
