Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater has now gotten a fresh new remake after over a decade since the original game first came out, but it is still almost the exact same as it was back then. Since the game hardly has any major changes in many of its segments, long-time fans will not be surprised by the fact that you can escape the prison cell with all the exact same methods as before. If you need a refresher, read on below!

Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater – How to Escape Prison (3 Methods)

Once you find yourself in the prison cell for story reasons, you will obviously have to find a way to get yourself out of there. Luckily for you, there are three different ways to do it, and they are quite literally the exact same as the methods from over 20 years ago.

Just to save you time, we will go over these steps in bullet form because of how dead simple they really are. Here are all three of the methods you can do to escape:

  • Method #1. Faking Your Death – Pick up the fork from the ground and then use it to extract the bullet in your leg, which contains the fake death pill. Now, use the fake death pill and then use a revival pill as soon as the door is opened. Do not feign death for too long, as Snake will eventually die for real.
  • Method #2. Faking an Illness – While the guard is looking at you, quickly open the cure menu and then start to spin Snake around for a prolonged period of time. Eventually, he will start puking in the real game as a result, which will prompt the guard to open the door. From here, you can CQC his butt and escape.
  • Method #3. Using the Frequency – There are many ways to get the frequency needed to unlock the door, including little hints sprinkled around the facility or by seeing actual ghosts. To save you time, just input the frequency 144.75 (yes, the same as in the original game) and the door will swing open on its own.

And that is really all there is to it! This is pretty much the same as the past game, so if you are already a diehard Metal Gear Solid fan who played the OGs, then you… probably aren’t looking at this. If you are completely new to Snake Eater, though, then congratulations, you have now escaped your cell!
