Read on and we’ll guide you through everything you need to do to find the secret at the Nebakov Fortress!
Explore the Fortress | Back In The Saddle Quest
The optional “Explore the Fortress” objective for the “Back in the Saddle” quest is hinting for you to get the Old Raven achievement in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. That means you have to find a way to sneak into the fortress’ dungeon and talk with the prisoner there. You can start once you’re within the fortress walls, waiting for Hans Capon to finish his meeting. Go past the dice game table and up the stairs to enter a building.
As soon as you enter the building, you’ll be face to face with a locked wooden door. You’ll need to use a lockpick to open it. Thankfully, it’s a very easy lock, so it shouldn’t give you much trouble! That said, you can refer to our tips and tricks for lockpicking if you need to.
When you open the door, enter the room and check the table in the middle. You should spot the Nebakov Jail Key there. Grab it and leave the building.
Entering the Dungeon
Now, go back downstairs to the courtyard where the guards are playing dice. As you can see above, there’s another entrance to the building directly below the one you used before. However, there’s a guard next to it. There are two ways to distract him easily.
The first is to talk with him and tell him that Sir Jaromier is looking for him. This requires you to pass an Impression check, however.
Alternatively, you can go around the corner to the west and enter the kitchen nearby.
Inside the kitchen, pick the lock to open the far door. Be wary as the guard in the kitchen does sometimes move around to check on the food, however. Nonetheless, it’s an easy difficulty lock, so it shouldn’t be too hard.
This door will lead you right behind the guard by the dungeon’s entrance. You can distract him by drawing his attention here, such as by throwing rocks.
Whatever you end up going with, open the door to the dungeon by using the Nekabov Jail Key after you distract the guard. Turn to your right as soon as you enter the dungeon and you’ll find a prisoner.
Talk with him and he’ll say that the fortress was taken over by bandits. Choose “I’ll report to Lord von Bergow!” to get the Old Raven achievement.
This will also mark the “Explore the Fortress” optional objective for the “Back in the Saddle” quest as completed in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. However, do keep in mind that you still have to wait for Hans’ meeting to be finished!
