Monster Hunter Wilds has a lot of new features that make the game easier in some ways, and the new wound system related to the focus mode mechanic is one of them. In this guide, we will be showing you how to use it on your PC in case you have somehow forgotten or have not been paying any attention to the early tutorials in the game!
How to Use Focus Mode on PC in Monster Hunter Wilds
Early on, the game teaches you how to take advantage of monster wounds by going into focus mode and striking body parts that are glowing red. However, if you have already forgotten how to do so, the process is extremely simple.
All you need to do is press the B button to activate the focus camera. From here, you can now hit a Focus Strike by using the left shift button and hopefully landing it on a wound to stagger the monster even more.
Alternatively, you can also use the left Altbutton while your weapon is sheathed to do this, which also lets you aim your slinger. Additionally, mouse button 4 (which is a side button, if you have them) will have the same function by default.
You can change all of these keybinds in the options menu if you are more comfortable with a different setup. If you have a controller that you can use on PC, some might find it easier to just use that rather than fiddling around with keybinds as well.
That is pretty much everything you need to know in order to start using focus mode on PC. While you are here, check out our guide on Artian weapons as well, so you can further increase your damage output and take advantage of the wound system even more!

If he’s not busy working or writing on his personal blog, there’s also a non-zero chance that you stumble into him in pretty much any multiplayer game that has SEA or OCE servers. He’s pretty good at anything unless it’s a fighting game, in which case you’d probably body him.
